I shop here a lot and all I have to say is that S&S has THE WORST self checkout system I’ve ever tried to use. You can’t go too fast, you can’t go too slow. And you better believe you need to put that item in the bagging area immediately, but don’t put it in a bag because it will stop if you put a bag IN THE BAGGING area. Just go to a cashier if there are any actual cashiers working. It’s so much more efficient the old fashion way.

Whoever the manager is of this place is not equipped to manage anything I would think part being a manager would be great customer service. While today I was standing in one line and the register next to me was opened so they said I'll take u at this register since I was next in line while turns out they opened a register that was broken and they had already had issues with it that day and the reason I know that is because when I went to pay the machine wasn't working so I told the cashier she said try again so I did and it still didn't work. Instead of saying anything to me she turned to the cashier behind me and said this is the one he told me to come to but it is not working so then she had to go get the manager who came over and said still not working they has to force a recipt and have me go and pay at a different register. I was very understanding because I understand things happen however the manager didn't even apologize for the inconvenience which I find annoying since he openly admitted to the register being broken previously. Do better great customer service is important in general but especially for a manager

They get 2 stars because 1 is for the pharmacy which is AMAZING. The second is for effort nothing more. I have used this S&S since I moved to the area in 2018. It's never fully recovered since 2020, the quality in so many areas is terrible. My particular reason for this review however is the pick up option. I even reported it to corporate in March, was given $15 gift card for my trouble only to be frustrated at my next used...today. I enjoy pick up because I am extremely busy and it is a nice convenience but the extra money I have to pay for it with the extra hassles has made me decide otherwise. They charge a service fee, used to be $3 now its $4 for pick up. They charge for every bag. The frozen items are always thawed, stopped buying frozen a year ago. They always miss something forget something or mess something up. My final straw was my last visit in March, I ordered a small order and part of that was $20 worth of flowers. When I got to the location... in my designated time slot. No one answered. NOT only did no one answer pick up, I had TWO phones calling at the same time, no one answered pick up no one answered customer service and 3 other people were waiting too for over 7 mins just trying to get a hold of a person to bring our stuff out(thT we pay extra for). By the time the kid came out I was so flustered and had somewhere else to be.. I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't notice until I was home...no flowers. I proceeded to call the store to speak to someone. No answer, they Were open. No one at pick up no one at customer service. And I tried for 2 hours before I finally gave up. Tried AGAIN the next morning. Same thing. Finally reported to corporate who refunded the $20 and added some extra for my frustration. I tried again tonight... and again, disappointed. Sitting in the parking lot another 5-8 mins waiting for someone in the dang store to pick up the phone. And...before someone says "oh the app let's you notify them when you are on your way." That feature has not worked for me, doesnt even SHOW UP...so no that is also not an option. When I get home... the bagging was so ridiculous it was the last straw. I had ordered a few yogurts, a bunch of bananas and a box of tea. All 3 would fit in the same bag no issues. I understand not refrigerating the bananas so...ok tea and yogurt could go together. Nope. Each has a separate bag. That I PAID FOR may I add. Completely ridiculous. I'm officially done. Even Walmart is better than this! Their pick up is FREE their bags are FREE and someone ALWAYS answers the phone. Ive given multiple chances here due to convenience but the hassle of chasing people to do the job they are PAID for, that I get charged EXTRA for....is no longer worth my time. The pharmacy is amazing. That's the only positive thing here. The quality of fresh food has gone down hill too. They've lost a customer who is over the drama of the poor quality of every area of that place. Wholefoods, Dave's, market basket, Walmart.... all better as far as I am concerned.

Last chance for Stop & Shop, I stopped going here because the food is mostly spoiled, I had to get some cream cheese for a recipe and didn't want to go to Market Basket. As I walked in what's the first thing I see? A rat trap! Turned around and went to Dave's!
