I had the Maitake Mushrooms with a Sunnyside egg on top. Excellent!! The egg is what complement the mushrooms.

We had the burger with parmesan truffle fries. The food was fantastic and came out as ordered. The rum punch was perfectly made. The waitress was amazing and attentive. Definitely will come back to eat here again when in the area.

Iron Works Tavern is among the several restaurants and hotels that have sprung up on the south end of Jefferson Boulevard as the T.F. Green Airport and rail hub has expanded. The restaurant is convenient for commuters and for guests of the attached Hilton Garden Inn. Unlike the hotel, the brick-faced tavern building has a long history: built in 1867, it once served as the main offices of the Rhode Island Malleable Iron Works. The beautifully restored structure sets the Iron Works Tavern apart from the hotel and, if the food doesn't exactly blow you away, you will find it's definitely several steps up from the usual hotel-restaurant fare. A benefit for out-of-towners is the nice attention paid to local favorites: Rhode Island-style clam chowder (clear broth), Point Judith calamari with hot peppers, and a weekday lunch special featuring New England comfort food like fish ?n' chips and the signature mac ?n' cheese. Things get more chichi for dinner, with pork osso buco and wood-grilled steaks nicely presented. But we think the actual tavern food --- sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, salads --- is what they do best.
