Came to visit for a couple classes recently. Excellent quality of people training there. Had the pleasure of witnessing the head coach not only teaching jiujitsu but giving upper belts teaching experience. Everyone made me feel welcome and I learned a great deal just from a couple days training there. Great experience. Thanks!

Wow! This academy is exactly what you would expect from a solid jujitsu professor. He and his coaches are first class and so are the students. You'll get a solid roll here! I arrived from Superior, WI and Professor Burrill welcomed me and made me feel like I was one of his student. This would by my gym if I lived here. I'm looking forward to coming back. I rolled Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Each time was the exact same...amazing!

If you are a beginner or a current Martial Artist looking to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu TBBJJ is the place for you. High quality instruction and a friendly environment. I have been a member for many years and have watched my teammates excel. People from all walks of life work together to reach their full potential. Having traveled all over training with many famous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors. I can honestly say that Tim Burrill is the real deal. If you are in the Rhode Island area check it out.

I have been going to Tim Burrill BJJ for a couple of years now. I am very impressed with the level of instruction and respect in the Dojo. When I first started, Jimmy welcomed me into his beginner class and made sure that I had a very good experience. Jimmy is a great instructor. I have also worked with Gabe and DSP, both excellent instructors. I am older and have some limitations. I enjoy the instruction and the grappling. I am not there to get hurt, but to train and get better. The Dojo has a family feeling to it. The people are very respectful, encouraging and some of the finest that I have ever met. If you are interested in getting into Jiu Jitsu, you can not choose a finer establishment to begin your journey. I highly recommend Tim Burrill BJJ.

I started training at Tims 3 years ago because I was obsessed with watching MMA. I tried it out, and was immediately hooked. Tim runs a great school filled with talented people who are willing to help you learn. We have people from every walk of life who train with us, from professional MMA fighters to doctors. Tim Burrill is not only a great instructor, but an excellent human being.

I have been training at this school for almost 3 months now under Jim Connors. He is super knowledgeable super friendly and a great instructor. I would recommend this class for anyone people with zero experience or people with years of experience he wil make you feel right at home and teach you some great things.

Over the past few months I have been training at Tim’s under the instruction of Coach Jim “Tattoo Jimmy” Connors and I have been impressed with the dedication and welcoming learning environment that they offer. Not only does the training allow growth in BJJ but each session is uniquely hilarious and will have you “rolling on the floor” no pun intended. I could not be more happy with my time invested.

My boyfriend and I were staying in the area for a couple days and we dropped in twice to train. Tim's gym is a nice, large, clean space, and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. We got lots of great roles and really enjoyed Tim's class. We look forward to stopping by again in the future!

I've been a student of Tim's school for the past few years and it's been a real game changer in my life. Tim, Jimmy, Katie and the other instructors are great people and top notch teachers who love the art and love sharing it with others. I've been fortunate enough to meet so many great people there from all walks of life that I've would've never met otherwise. BJJ is a workout for both body and mind and you'll walk away with skills that can literally save your life. If you're on the fence at all about trying this school or BJJ in general, I can't encourage you enough to come give it a shot.

Best Jiujitsu school I've ever been to. Instructors are very personable and nice and make you feel welcomed, always eager to help when you need them. I can say the same thing for the people that go there, extremely nice and willing to help you make your jits game better. It literally feels like your family away from your family. If you're thinking about starting Jiujitsu and are in the Providence area Tim's the way to go, you won't get better Jiujitsu anywhere else.

I have been training at Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost 6 years and every day that passes I am happier that I chose to join this community of amazing martial artists. As a college professor, pedagogy is my craft: I can sincerely say that Tim and Jimmy, the black belt instructors at TBBJJ, are among the very best teachers, in any discipline of learning, that I have encountered in my life. In fact I have often adapted their knowledge sharing techniques for using in my own teaching in the college classroom.There is room for everybody to learn and grow at the TBBJJ family: from UFC fighters and professional Jiu-jitsu players to folks in their 40's -like myself- who just want to learn and train jiu jitsu with the highest caliber martial artists. I travel a lot, and can attest that the technical level of jiu jitsu at TBBJJ compares favorably to any other school I have visited anywhere. Last but not least, the quality and character of the people at the TBBJJ family is outstanding, and learning happens in a relaxed, friendly, yet challenging environment. I was very lucky to walk into Tim's, 5 years ago. The environment is open, casual, friendly. But the training is hard, serious and detailed.I have travelled across the country some and when I was able to train. I have not found the same intensity and selflessness in other schools.Tim Burrill BJJ is one of the reasons I have decided to stay in RI.

I've been going to Tim's since 2011 and haven't looked back since.What makes Tim such a great teacher is how he breaks his lessons down to simple concepts - concepts that can be applied not just to the lesson, but to other scenarios when you roll. These lessons are often eye-opening in the best way.What also makes Tim Burrill BJJ so great are the people that attend it. This school cultivates a high level of skill and a friendly, positive culture.I love this place, and highly recommend this school to anyone thinking of starting jiu-jitsu or visiting the area to train.
