These people r not here to help the other to progress and get out of this section 8. How they try to deduct 30% of 1 income when u clearly have to pay for light bill, gas, car insurance, food, laundry, gasoline for car, plus so many other things such as uber for your child to attend college or school. You do not deduct 30% before adding the math of all the spending. This is the reason many can not proceed because it gets higher for the working families like myself. Yet they do give free housing to some who r scaming the system. I know a couple who has a section 8 voucher and have a house and what they do is rent the apartment they have under their name to another person while they collect the money or they have a husband who is not in the lease making big bucks .

Karla, David, Matt, Maryann.. they're liars. Do not go to RIHousing, my mom had died and i tried contacting them, they ignored me because i wasnt a successor in interest, i filled out the paper work, got the certificate of appointment and they still ignored my emails. Then they were telling their bank i was ignoring them. They dont want to help you with your home, they want you to lose it. They dont care about people, RIhousing is a scam.

I've had multiple clients this year with RI Housing. They are an amazing team to work with. If you are looking for a loan in RI, ask for Gary Goodman. If it can get done, he will get it done.

I have had my mortgage with RI Housing since 2004. With the exception of one experience, I have been pleased with the service I've had. I would say they need to rethink how they deal with in-person visits (waiting in the lobby for someone to come down and talk to you). It doesn't extend the privacy that I think should be afforded customers. But I haven't had to go into the building in years. And the revamped website is great; it's educational, clear. I would strongly suggest using it. Mailing a check takes too long to be received and reported (though I'm not sure why in this day and age people would do this). If you use the website, your payment is recorded on the day you make your payment and you instantly get a receipt via email. I have never had a problem using the website. Any rep I have talked with has been polite (with the one exception I mentioned at the outset). I have heard complaints regarding the efficiency/knowledge of customer service reps and, frankly, employees (or former employees I should say) have acknowledged that better training is needed. But overall, my experience has been good. Glad they have my mortgage.

Absolutely horrendous. I’m middle aged I don’t need an old woman on her way to retirement or the grave to correct how I speak on the phone. For the love of all that is holy please provide updated training for the staff. It’s 2023 if people can be mindful of pronouns it certainly shouldn’t be hard for staff to not be miserable.

"I'm just following orders" is basically the vibe. These people pretend to be an aid to the rhode island people until you need help. Then it's tight tomelines and untold fees.Luckily I knew what I was doing as a first time home buyer, but this company will rush you through every step of the way and continually attempt to move the project forward using thier own resources to secure your loan. Then, after closing,, suddenly your insurance starts pointing out things that sky rocket quarterly insurance.

I've been on the list for almost 4 years and will probably die before I get affordable housing.

I'd give them Zero stars if it was available. I looked up my status and noticed that I've now been removed, the reason "No Answer" so I called & asked on what day & time did you call me on, & you also had left no voicemail to document the call. I then contacted my T-Mobile and they stated to me that absolutely 100% no such number or numbers had called me on that day & time frame.

I called to make sure my application was filled out correctly as im trying to move closer to the hospital for my treatments not to mention I've been on the wait list for four years. I leave a message and someone calls me back when I'm in a appt. To tell me how to reset my password. Lol are you kidding me. All this state and federal money they got coming in and they can't address the right issues at hand

I've been homeless for a year after a house fire and on ssi. They never call me back after the 100 messages i have left or of they do say nothing when I answer then hang up its ridiculous. I tried to get emergency housing list years long. Try to find out about purchasing family home that burnt down so I could rebuild no response. This place is a joke and for some reason state forces you to deal with them for assistance.
