The Rhode Island Foundation was organized at the Rhode Island Hospital Trust Co. in June 1916 by a small group of prominent Rhode Islanders. I have been involved in several events sponsored by the Rhode Island Foundation and I believe they do a great job for the state and the local communities. This non profit is committed to strengthening Rhode Island through strategic initiatives in education, health, and economic security, as well as through impact investing, diversity, inclusion, and equity work. The Fund for Rhode Island supports causes and organizations throughout Rhode Island that are deemed to be for the greatest good of the community. This unrestricted fund supports the Foundation's mission to meet the needs of the people of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Foundation works with generous Rhode Islanders who support not only Fund for Rhode Island, but also establish funds (unrestricted, field of interest, designated, scholarship, donor advised, corporate advised, organizational endowment, supporting organization) with funds established during donors' lifetimes or through planned giving. The Foundation invests in the following four strategic initiatives, with goals for both short-term progress and long term impact:-Educational Success: Improve educational outcomes for all public school students.-Economic Security: Improve Rhode Island's environment for economic growth so all Rhode Islanders can prosper.-Healthy Lives: Improve access to and quality of primary care for all Rhode Islanders.-Inspiring Philanthropy: Increase philanthropy in Rhode Island. In 2021, the donors thoughtfully trusted the Foundation with $98 million in new funds. The investment returns for the year were over 20%, and the endowment now stands at $1.4 billion.Anyone interested in estate planning to benefit the Rhode Island Foundation can contact them directly through their website or by phone.

A friend of mine is trying to flee a domestic abuse situation with her kids, and this charity had promised funding to Crossroads RI, who in turn had promised help with first and security. She's supposed to get the keys today and move this weekend, once she gives the landlord the first and security. She was told by Crossroads last night that "Rhode Island Foundation failed to provide the funding they promised" and now there is no funding to help her get out of the domestic situation.I realize that the lack of communication is on the part of Crossroads, but the lack of promised funding seems to fall on Rhode Island Foundation.Crossroads said this has impacted a large number of domestic abuse survivors, not just this one.Now she has a choice, to either ask to stay longer in the abusive situation or to be homeless with three children.I know times are hard, but promising something to people in need and not following through is far worse than not offering help in the first place.

Being thankful not only shows good manners, but a simple expression of thankfulness can go a long way in relationships and communication with others. It not only enhances our own lives, but makes other people feel appreciated,

It's a place where you get cheap priced furniture when you really need it on an emergency crisis

I really like this place. It’s a place where you can go and get furniture without breaking your bank (literally). Sara looks tough, but has a heart of gold. She is there to answer any questions and assist you in anything you need. The staff is great there.
