Coming from Massachusetts where we have the Boston Children’s Museum, I was expecting more from PCM in terms of size, activities/things to do, and more engagement from staff members. I would recommend this place for families who have children 5 and under, but not much to keep older children engaged who have quite the energy between 5-12. This place has 2 floors, an outdoor area with a tunnel like structure and a couple of instruments and a wall to draw with chalk, a small indoor play area for children 4 years and under, and bathrooms on both levels. They do have a small room for water play on the first floor and room to eat your lunch/snack and the second floor has 4 pretend play areas based on history in the area in addition to stations for building blocks, drawing, etc. and this is a place you’d have to go in person to see for yourself if it is for you and your family, not solely based off the reviews here (even mine). They do have a free parking!

We love PCM and come here almost every weekend. Rain or shine, it is such a great place for our 18 month old!! She gets to truly explore and learn through play here, and as a result we are seeing major growth in her conceptual understanding of the world around her. For young children, I definitely recommend coming back several times so that they can most from these exhibits... spring for the membership if you can! It's a great deal, and so enriching.

If I can rate this a zero I would. Me and my boyfriend tried to come to this museum and they told us we couldn’t get inside because of our age. 16,17 is considered a kid and should still be allowed to have fun. 18+ is one thing but as a 16,17 year old is insane. Never in my life I would thought I would be getting kicked out of this place because of my age. And the manager had the audacity to ask what my purpose here was, excuse me? Maybe to have fun as a KID.

I would like to give the children’s museum a zero review. We had a field trip planned with them and called to confirm a few days in advance and they told us they didn’t have a spot for us. Very poor communication skills with staff and field trip planning we do not recommend. Letting down a bunch of children a few days before, when they are so excited to attend. DON’T RECOMMEND AT ALL

So, google asks if there was a wait. I didn’t have one when we went. But, I could see it happening. It is geared for kids toddler to early school age. 2-6 or 7. Maybe 8. It has a water play room, a drawing/ art room. About a dozen areas inside for general play with some toys. Blocks and puzzle like. It has a handful of theme rooms that are pretty cool. Like a pirate room and grocery store room. Also a real good partially covered outdoor area. As for price. It is 15 or so per each person. Kid or adult. Making it much more likely to do the 1 year membership as that is like 3-4 visits. They do not charge for children under 1. Good place. Would recommend. Will go again.

We really enjoyed our time here, the staff is very friendly and make an effort to talk to and interact with the children instead of just speaking directly with only the adults. The crafts are always fun and my kids learn something new every time we go. It can be frustrating when older children are playing a bit rough and some parents sit and lounge in work spaces/play areas and kids get discouraged from interacting with those things, so try to be mindful of your surroundings but other than that it is always a good experience and promotes all sorts of different learning and play styles.

I liked this place a lot. Very comparable to the Acton Discovery Museum.

Staff is friendly however it is very frustrating when your child wants to play with 1 item and another kid says no and other children hit each other not a good experience for us. Would not recommend

Worth the trip. We were staying 45 minutes away, and our two young children had a wonderful time. We stayed for 2 hours, and that seems like a reasonable time frame. Recommend that you get there 10-15 minutes early during holiday weeks, or weekends as the parking lot gets slammed. A historic setting only about 5 minutes from Brown University.

The only drawback is they have 2 slot times for you to enter. One would think there would be a limit on people allowed in. The place was packed. Each room had way more people then should of been. Don't park in the parking lot, the patrons fight and won't let you out because they want your spot. Highly suggest parking behind the museum two parking lots back and walking the half block.

Fantastic museum that's entirely interactive. Not even sure it's a "museum" because it's truly an experience. We'll absolutely be taking our son back and bringing as many friends as we can - maybe even having his birthday party there! The kids would've stayed in the water room the entire time if we let them and would suggest a back up outfit just in case (but they have great clothing souvenirs too)!

We have been to a lot of children’s museums across the country and this one was nice, nothing exceptional but well laid out with a variety of stations and activities. My kids particularly enjoyed the extensive “water table” room (though the provided smocks are not match for children’s play- bring rain boots and a change of pants for any kids who will spend more than a few minutes playing there). My biggest disappointment was that the entrance price only allows for up to 3 hours of play (less if you don’t get there right at the beginning of the time slot). I looked it up online before we went and noticed the two “open” windows (9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30), but nowhere online, or in person when we purchased our tickets, did it say that readmission after the lunch break would require an additional (full price) admission fee. For our family it was $84 for a morning of play, and it would have been another $84 to come back in the afternoon. I’ve never seen this elsewhere. If this is the policy it should be clearly stated and explained upon admission.

Great busy place for small kids, probably ip to 7-8, our 6 years old had a blast. A lot if kids 1-2 years old with their own place to crawl and explore.Small area outside to explore as well.Otherwise, if you want your kids to stay occupied for a few hours , come and enjoy.Affordable entrance prices for adults and kids!
