I lived in this apartment building for 4 years and it was such a wonderful experience. Center place is located in the best part of Providence downtown, conveniently located across Amtrak Station and the Providence Place Mall. The building is safe and has 24 hour concierge. John and Harry were excellent and always helpful during our stay. I moved in during COVID and the one thing that stood out was how clean the building was. Christina and Marco do a great job of keeping it clean for the residents. Amenities include Indoor pool and gym with a beautiful court yard to enjoy. Maintenance team is always eager to help . Shout out to David and Carlos. What makes a building a home is the neighbors, everyone who lives there is so friendly. If you’re moving to Providence I cannot think of a better place to live in.

I love living in Center Place. First apartment here was a one-bedroom, rented sight unseen, because my husband needed wheelchair accessibility. We reassured ourselves that we're renting not buying so could leave once the lease ended. That was 2013. Still here and, since 2017, in a glorious two-bedroom with a separate dining room. The staff go out of their way. The mix of people is life-giving. From newborns to RISD students to Brown Medicine people to people my age, Center Place community is filled with interesting humans...and adorable dogs and cats.

Center Place is a little slice of heaven located in the heart of a phenomenal city. I am so happy to be here.

I lived here for a little under 2.5 years and had a great experience. The maintenence is very responsive and the staff especially Harry, John & James are friendly and personable. The gym being open 24/7 was a huge perk and it is kept clean. Just wish the rent was a little cheaper.

An amazing part of Center Place, and what doesn’t show in marketing material and many reviews, is the wonderful sense of community that exists at Center Place. Friends meet around the much loved “free” coffee machine, those who own dogs quickly get to know each other, and monthly planned social activities bring other groups together. Examples of these social activities are a party in the garden with Cuban sandwiches, adult drinks, and salsa dance lessons; gingerbread house decorating contest; and pot luck dinners. Students through seniors — you will feel welcome and find friends here!
I have lived in several (Avalon) apartment complexes, but I have NEVER lived in such a sound limiting building! It took months before I found that I have a next door neighbor and I still, after 9 months of living here, don’t know if anyone lives directly above or below me!
Luxury apartments, downtown walkability, 24/7 Concierge service (they are an important part of the Center Place family), friendly maintenance and management team, parking garage under the building, lovely private garden — CHECK!! What you won’t find anywhere else is a wonderful community of residents. Priceless!!

We had the honor to have lived in the apartment unit with the terrace and not only was the view spectacular but the staff here is amazing. The front receptionist (all) were very communicative, professional and welcoming. It made living here absolutely pleasant especially if you have children. Being across from the train station was bonus. Center place really is in center of everything in downtown providence. We had an amazing summer here and visit frequently.

My husband and I have lived here since August of 1992. The best attribute of Center Place is its staff, who have always gone "above and beyond" for us. Our apartment is roomy, our parking space (inside under the building) is convenient, and we are located minutes from Routes 95 N and S. There are a bank, a coffee shop, and a restaurant directly across the street behind us and an Amtrak station across the street to our front. Our location is ideal.

My family of three lived there for more than a year and overall had a great experience. Our apartment at 710 has a spectacular view of the train station, the capitol, and the sky. We watched fireworks and sunsets right from our apartment and it was wonderful. It was for sure the best renting experience we have had. The building was extememely well managed and maintained. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The people at the front desk were always nice and friendly, they made us feel welcomed--we mostly interacted with Harry and John at the front desk. One time one of our neighbors consistently made a lot of noise during the nights, and Harry resolved it like a charm. John was such an angel and was so nice to my daughter, Lucy (as well as Lucy's friends who came to visit). Lucy definitely loved him a lot (and his treats). I don't know how much they are paid but they definitely deserve a raise.

I have lived in Avalon at Center Place for 5 years, and this place is one of the best places in providence if not the BEST!! Highly recommended.

It sounds small, but everything small becomes big. Or else, it becomes a big problem if not addressed promptly. So, when the light beneath my microwave, which lights my stovetop, went dark just after I moved in, when I was still lost in a sea of boxes to be unpacked, I could not deal! So, I entered a non-emergency maintenance request via the online portal AvalonAccess, and that's it. I did nothing else. Magically, the very next day, an understated, knowledgeable, and super-speedy repair person appeared at my door, and fixed it faster than imaginable. I'd still be looking for a screwdriver had I attempted to fix it myself! So, easy, so seamless, and here is the best part. No one shamed me for having to ask for help. Perfection!

It’s a lovely place with great service, our drain just broke and Mike was sent to help us fix it the second day, very efficient.

We chose Center Place for 4 main reasons: proximity to the train, attractiveness/cleanliness of the building, proximity to downtown, and ability to move in the middle of our lease (a perk when Avalon managed the property). Out of the 4 reasons the proximity to downtown and the building were the absolute best two reasons. We ended up rarely needing the train, but on the days when we did need it, it was exceptionally convenient. We unfortunately did not have the opportunity to move to a sister property of Avalon because a new property manager took over during our lease. That issue aside, we were very happy with our time at Center Place and we’re sad to leave. Melanie, John, Kevin, and Harry were the people we got to know the most and we are deviated to have to leave them, all the staff was so accommodating and sort of felt like family! If you’re moving to Providence, move here!

Pros:- The folks who work there are absolutely wonderful and will bend over backwards to be helpful and accommodating (the rating I gave would have been much lower if it wasn't for them).- Location. It's in the middle of everything.- The building has some really nice features, including an indoor lap pool and very pretty courtyard complete with grills, a sundeck, and a great view of downtown Providence.- Large living rooms and good-sized bedrooms.Cons:- It's an older building (30+ years) that seems to have some deferred maintenance on their mechanical systems. In the year I was there, there were multiple incidents of fire alarms randomly going off in the whole building due to an old fire system malfunctioning, more than a few elevator outages that were prolonged by pandemic-related supply chain issues, and I even had to game my heater and AC to keep it from tripping the breaker (had to call maintenance a few times about this and still had issues since the HVAC was likely original to the building).- The kitchens are small and cramped. The non-renovated kitchens have formica counters and old white appliances.- The fitness center is small and not as well-equipped as one would hope for the price.
