Teddy is an amazing leader for his team at this location, I went there and we ran in an issue with not getting the car extended and teddy hopped on and helped us from start to finish.with a smile on his face. I never truly experienced great service like this before, we were there for a little while and we watched how organized the store was and how customers came in worried and left happy, Teddy makes it feel like it’s more of a family than a business, he prioritizes the customers first with respect and dignity. I can’t say THANK YOU enough. Keep up the amazing work

The older white lady, who didn’t introduce herself was very rude from the start upon walking in. I was trying to reserve a rental for a few days but couldn’t put the reservation through online so I thought it would be easier to do it in person. She was very rude and incompetent throughout the whole conversation, and I became so frustrated I ended up leaving to conduct my business elsewhere. I will never rent a car here again. Hertz is no good. Even if the car I wanted wasn’t available there is no need to talk to another person like that. Terrible customer service

If I could give Hertz "0" or negative stars, I would. My first experience with them was extremely negative. Their booking information seemed too good to be true, and I should have trusted my instincts. Nowhere on their website did it mention that a major credit card is required for booking a rental car 24 hours in advance. If I had known this, I would have saved myself the trip.I needed a rental car due to a car-related issue. As a 24-year-old living independently in Rhode Island and a full-time student, my parents live out of state. When I arrived at the Hertz location on Silver Spring St. in Providence, the staff essentially mocked me for not knowing about the credit card requirement. They made me feel like I should have been aware of this policy.I asked if I could provide a major credit card number over the phone with verbal consent, explaining my situation with my parents living out of state. However, the man I spoke with immediately cut me off and said no. I didn't expect him to bend the rules, but I did hope for some sympathy. Instead, I felt embarrassed by him and the other staff members.I will definitely not be using Hertz in the future.

These guys were amazing. I got into a car accident and it was during bad weather during a shortage of cars. However, they ensure that everything went well and smooth. They went above and beyond to ensure my family and I got home the day. I can’t stress their level of professionalism and how great the manager and worker were. Go with these guys for excellent service and treatment. Great guys!

I was surprised to see that the Hertz website still lists this as their "Providence - Amtrak Station" location. This is, in fact, nowhere near the Amtrak station, but is actually a couple miles away, not within walking distance and in a neighborhood you wouldn't want to walk around in anyway. So, if you arrive in Providence on Amtrak, you need first to find a hidden-away yellow "Hertz" phone to call the rental agency, then they send someone to pick you up and take you back to this Silver Spring Street location, where they have a handful of cars in a lot fenced in with razor wire. When I rented a car here (now several years ago), they offered me a tank of a car that smelled of cigarette smoke. Looking around at the other cars in the lot, it didn't look I had any better options, so I sucked it up and took the Crimetown-mobile they offered and was on my way. Other than needing to drive to Newport and back with the windows down to try to mitigate cigarette stench and paying more than I wanted to for the gas the car guzzled, things worked out.I now need to travel to Providence via Amtrak again and rent a car once again, and I was hoping things had changed. But it looks like this offsite razor-wire-fenced lot is still the official "Providence - Amtrak Station" location for Hertz. That's too bad. Everywhere else I travel I use Hertz on a corporate account, but in Providence I will choose another rental agency until Hertz can get their "Amtrak Station" location close to the Amtrak Station in a better lot and better neighborhood with a more contemporary selection of vehicles.

Hertz ruined my Christmas - the corporation and this specific location. I made a reservation for a car from December 23rd -26th with a pick-up time of 12pm.. Well, this location closes at 12, and I was not notified of this. I called the customer care line - sounded like a call center in another country, I was not given sufficient help & I was treated deceitfully and dismissively. I noticed there were employees inside of the closed location, I went to the door to see if they could help me. At first they refused to open the door for me, eventually an employee came out & I was treated extremely dismissively and coldly. I had to cancel my reservation, there were no cars available for me to re-book, so I rebooked with another rental company for the next day. I will never book a rental with Hertz again.

These guys are absolutely amazing! They dealt with the insurance company and dropped the car off at my home, and also picked it up. They are very kind and put me into a great car. I would highly recommend them!!

Thanks to delayed trains, I happened to get to the Hertz to pick up my reserved vehicle a little late. The gentlemen working at this location were kind and courteous and really went above and beyond to give me an excellent experience. Highly recommended!

Beware the "manager's special" -- it could be an EV that is not fully charged. I tried to save a few bucks by selecting the managers special, which turned out -- surprise! -- to be an electric vehicle with <50% charge. According to the internet, a full charge takes 9.5 hours. Finding a charging station and waiting for it to charge is not what I had in mind. Ugh.

We rented a vehicle from here 8/19. The car we were ejecting was not up to par based on the website description. This is a problem that is more of a corporate issue, not this specific location, which is why we gave 3 stars. The agents that worked with us were very friendly and accommodating. We weren't happy with the vehicle, and luckily, someone returned a vehicle while we were waiting, and they were able to swap our rental. Upon returning the vehicle, we were also met with very friendly and helpful agents. I would definitely book in advance to make sure they have a vehicle available. If you can't, I would call ahead to make sure vehicles are available.

ABYSMAL. Do Not Use!!!!!! Representatives we're extremely disrespectful of my time and to me as a customer. There were significant hidden charges I never agreed to, they gave me the incorrect location of the vehicle at pickup, the tank was less than halfway full, and then I was charged for that fuel after I returned the vehicle. In total, what was supposed to be less than $600 for the week ended up costing slightly less than $1100 due to the fees and extra charges sprung on me at the last minute. I will NEVER do business with Hertz again due to the disgusting customer service and flagrant violations of federal laws (Consumer Credit Protection Act, specifically).

Rented a car to do Uber in. Once we first got there the car I was coming for was being given to an older lady so I got stuck with the one that sucks more gas. I was told it didn’t need any oil when it’s constantly needing oil, the light is out, the breaks squeak and every time you turn it makes a noise. Do they do anything about it? No they don’t. They just want their money weekly without taken care of what you’re renting. It’s such a hassle with each phone call. You would think a company making about 300$ a week off of each person would take more care of their customers and their vehicles.

Most pathetic car rental company that I have the utmost displeasure of dealing with. If I had only read the reviews, I wouldn’t have wasted a whole day and a family dinner.Booked a car just to show up and find out they didn’t have any car available. They didn’t even bother to at least give me a courtesy call or message to let me know there was no car available.Pathetic and unprofessional.
