I had never even heard of this place let alone been to one before coming to the mall. It's essentially a dept store w/ all kinds of stuff & great deals. I ended up getting two pairs of sunglasses & gloves because I couldn't decide between them & since they were on sale I decided to get them all. The service/cashier was friendly & helpful too. Great place to shop.

Modern clean mall attached to the Omi with a Macys and Boscov's store as the anchors. There is a Nordstrom's shoe store that has remained. Upstairs is a food hall with an IMAX cinema and views of the river. There were clean restrooms. What I did appreciate was small vendor set up tables inside and they're selling their hand crafts. Many were beautifully done and ethnic. We did buy a homemade banana bread from Paradise Pastries in Norwich, Connecticut.

Providence Place is the largest mall in Rhode Island, with three floors full of action, all anchored on different ends by the Macy's and Boscov's department stores. In between are all the usual stores you can think of, whether Apple, Victoria's Secret, or, of course, Rhode Island's very own CVS. To me, it was all typical mall fare: the same old national stores you can find at most other malls plus a sprinkling of independent kiosks and shops. For me, the highlight of the mall was a large central atrium overlooking the Providence skyline and crossing - yes, you read that right - the Woonasquatucket River and the Amtrak train lines just above it. Quite an architectural feat to build such a huge building over such important natural features and infrastructure.

Went to the movies at Providence Place on a Saturday afternoon. I thought finding an open parking space was bad. However, I was quite the surprise when it was time to leave. The garage is cramped with limited exits. Cars were lined up in both the North and South garages trying to exit, either at a dead stop or sub crawling pace. If there was ever an emergency, forget about getting help. DO NOT park here unless you have a whole day to waste.

DON'T LOSE YOUR PARKING TICKET OR YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY $25 TO GET OUT!!!! Other than that, I had a good experience. It's not too crowded and they have an abundance of stores.

Masters degree in Engineering and at least 10 years of experience with Urban Reconniteering requires to successfully use this parking lot. Maybe if it weren't in the mess that is Providence traffic, and maybe if the garage wasn't divided by a river, and maybe if there were fewer sketchy people loitering in the parking areas; I could give this place a good review. But those things have always been there, and continue to plague the area.

When I visited Providence, I ended up needing some new shoes. I stopped here and was able to go DSW. This mall is absolutely huge and has everything you need! It's super conveniently located in Downtown, so you can easily walk if you're staying down here, or you can drive.

Pretty nice mall. Tons of stores and always lively. A lot of malls have been slowly becoming ghost towns with stores closing but this mall has no shortage of businesses. I love going to Dave n busters whenever I'm there as well. Only real negative is the parking and the cost of it. I mean if you're in the mall spending money the parking should be free they should validate

Providence Place is a gathering place for shoppers in downtown Providence. With 1,400,000 sq ft (130,000 m2), it has been the largest shopping mall in Rhode Island since it opened in 1999. As of 2022, the mall currently features Macy's, and Boscov's, the mall currently features premier brands Abercrombie & Fitch, Adore Me, Brooks Brothers, Tiffany & Co., and Free People.Providence Place opened in 1999 with original anchors Lord & Taylor, Filene's, and Nordstrom. Lord & Taylor was repositioned and shuttered entirely in June 2004. The space was later filled by JCPenney in February 2005. Filene's became Macy's in 2006.Today there are still a lot of empty spaces (especially restaurants), but the retail spaces do seem to get re-leased pretty quickly. The two hour free parking in the garage is a great advantage for shoppers as they don't have to worry about paying nor finding parking around downtown. I love many of the stores like Zara, H&M, Lucky Brand Jeans, Brooks Brothers, Swarovsky, Banana Republic and others. PF Chang's, the Cheesecake Factory and Panera are solid choices for food, in addition to the quick restaurants located in the Food court (3rd floor).

For a weekday, the mall was surprisingly busy. Most stores were open, and there are a couple new one's in the works. Some of the restaurants at street level seem to no longer be open. Bright and sunny interior, carpeted floors, escalators, food court. All the expected mall accoutrements. There are several entrances, so be sure you take note of what stores are nearby when you enter. Pay for your parking at the machines before exiting. It's just quicker and easier. Remember to ask for discounts when shopping such as AAA and other organizations you may belong to. They have a wide variety of clothing, shoes, athletics, toys, sweets and household goods stores to chose from.Typical mall located just off Rt. 95 near the statehouse with a bus stop our front and a parking structure out back.

REVIEW FROM AN AMTRAK TRAVELER: This is the mall where I spent time before getting an Uber from Providence to Newport. I had taken the overnight Amtrak train to Providence from New York, and had a couple of hours to kill before I could check into my hotel in Newport. Even though the stores were closed, you could still walk around inside and also use the public bathrooms on the food court level.
