What a great experience. Definitely recommend. Incredible views and you can bring your own food to tailgate or purchase seats. They have waitresses and a bar as well. Plenty of parking.

Newport Polo is a fun, afternoon into evening experience which is best enjoyed with a little effort prior to your arrival. Do make a fancy picnic lunch, dress up, and arrive early. There are options for lawn seating (which is perfectly lovely), tailgating, and pavilion seats complete with restaurant table service, and a walk-up bar. Food trucks separate the parking area from the lawn area for more options. The attendants in the parking area are friendly and helpful. Buy tickets in advance online if you can. Watching the polo players on the field is mesmerizing, and the announcer makes it magical. Well behaved dogs are allowed, but remember there will be a lot of other well behaved dogs there, too. It's a very family-friendly event, and one I recommend to everyone. Portsmouth is about 15 minutes north of Newport RI.

As someone who is not at all familiar with the sport, it was a really cool experience.

Fun time for All ages! Set up your picnic on the expansive lawn or sit in the bleachers where the big fans are. Great for parties, reunions or just family fun! A giant Jumbotron keeps you up-to-date on all the action. Food trucks and art vendors to add to the festivities

Always a great time. Great place to people watch...I mean watch polo! Not at all snobby or posh, but can be posh if you want it to be. Dress up or don't. Tail gating, or they have a bar. Kids under 15 free. Great for groups, bring yard games. Oh...and there's horses!

Great place to visit and enjoy a polo match. Rubbing elbows with the wealthy?….magnificent fields, horses and ambiance.

Polo is a fun way to spend the day. It is something different to enjoy than typical Saturdays. Tailgate spots are fantastic, and they are right on the sideline! They go pretty early, so you have to buy them months in advance. But they allow up to 15 people, and you can get there 4 hours before a match and stay late. Lawn seating is cheaper and more readily available. I highly recommend trying it out for an afternoon. Plus, stomping the divets is always fun. And the commentators are usually pretty funny and witty.

Delightful afternoon at polo. The announcer was tremendously helpful in explaining the game and the rules. This particular match was sponsored by a car dealership including Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars, so the teams were set up as Rolls-Royce versus Bentley.
