Walking into Beyoutiful, you'll notice the bright teal walls and plenty of low end merchandise on display. Walking out, your head will be spinning with how unprofessional the owner is. I use to get my hair done by my stylist who worked at the salon. I was loyal to her and that was the only reason I went back several times over the couple of years that she was an employee there. Thankfully she has since left and I have followed her to her new salon. Many of my stylist's clients left due to feeling uncomfortable because the owner was always very negative. I once brought one of my special needs clients there and the treatment the owner gave us was so absolutely disgusting that the time after I went in by myself, her eyebrow technician told me how beautifully I handled the situation with the owner's nasty and degrading treatment of my client. Another time, one of her young teenage boy clients was running late. He was a senior in high school (I know this because she told us how mad she was for him being late). He called to tell her he'd be several minutes late. I was impressed by the young man since he had called and gave her a polite, courteous heads up. She laughed and said in front of me that she wasn't going to blow dry his hair since he was late for his appt. He was coming in to get his hair cut before his prom. How sad. Another client of hers had beautiful purses--she told us how her husband had cheated on her and bought her lavish vacations and designer bags to repay her for what he did. Other times, she would talk about her sexual relationships and explicit content related to that. There was never a time that I didn't get a story about a client of hers. I was only one client who wasn't in the salon often. I can't imagine the stories that others could tell. I would be so upset if my hair stylist spoke poorly of me after I had left. The last time I was in her salon, she asked why I didn't bring my baby. I told her because this was my only time to myself. Her reply was, "I don't like kids anyways". I couldn't resist, I said "my children would not like you very much either". She was very forward in how she made sure children were not welcomed at the salon. She ended up installing cameras, which she has every right to as a business owner but the problem was that she listened to private conversations between stylists and clients and even spoke/yelled through the cameras when she heard something that she didn't agree with. It is illegal to record audio. My stylist ended up leaving Beyoutiful after the owner screamed through the cameras in front of her client. That was the last straw for her after years of abusive treatment from this woman. I'm sorry people have to find this out for themselves how horrible of a person she is. You'd think being in this particular industry, one would be professional, not speak poorly about clients, treat their employees nicely, and have cameras for the safety of her business but WITHOUT audio, never chiming in on conversations through the system. What an intrusive ordeal and such an invasion of client privacy to be listening to them as they are paying for their service. I hope nobody else is taken advantage of working for this woman or telling her anything they would not like repeated to the rest of the people who pay for services within her business. Most of the reviews on Yelp were only due to my hairdresser getting praise for her work ethic and accountability. The one star given, is one too many.

This is a great spa. It's very clean they follow all Covid protocol and everyone is very friendly. Got an amazing cut and color by the owner, Liz. I love what she has done with my hair in just 2 visits. Today I was in the check out at a grocery store. The woman in back of me asked where I get my hair cut and colored . Wow!!! A stranger asked what a great complement to Liz. Next I just may try a facial.

Nice, clean Salon with impeccable service. I had Brittany cut and style my hair. She did an excellent job. She was professional, kind, and patient. I have found my new stylist!

I had a wonderful experience at beyoutiful salon super clean and sanitizing per guidelines. Moved to the area and i was nervous about finding a new salon some place i felt comfortable and i would definitely recommend to anyone to go here

Best salon in Portsmouth. Gorgeous interior. Great energy. All the girls are absolutely lovely and do amazing work. Kim is the Queen of eyebrows, I have been going to her since I was 15, she will make any eyebrows look stunning!
