Having trouble with a hip and felt as though I was lopsided. Went to see if he could help. he was WONDERFUL,.Took so much time and patience and fitted me for a lift in one shoe and raised my shoe size up 1/2.as a result I have less pain and better balance. Plus he is so pleasant and happy to deal with. Thankyou Irving!

Irving's shoe store is a Portsmouth staple. Been coming here since I was a young child. Now I have even brought my grandson in for his first walking shoes. Always a great experience at this local shoe store. The owner is always a gentleman and extremely helpful. What a pleasent experience for us all. Irving's carries lots of major brands too! Shoes for the whole family. Plenty of free parking. What a great small business!!! Thank you Irving's, we will always return! ? ?? ?????

This was my third visit to this establishment. The owner is friendly professional and has a great sense of urgency! The incredible workmanship of this place does, is a lost art. I find myself going out of my way to bring business here when I'm in town. Thank you thank you thank you for always doing such a great job at affordable prices, especially in the current economic climate we find ourselves in.

The store itself is a bit untidy, but Irving was awesome - he was very attentive, friendly, and clearly knew his stuff. Who knew that “cobblers” still existed?? My wife and I brought in a couple pairs of new heels that he stretched and made more comfortable within a couple days. Will definitely go back for shoe repair or adjustments.

I had some expensive luggage that had a malfunctioning zipper. I didn't want to get rid of it, and luckily I found this business that fixed it no time. I took it to shop, he ordered the part, and in a couple days I had my luggage working as good as new. I highly recommend this business for their professionalism and prompt and courteous service.

I had 2 or 3 shoes repaired, a pocketbook brought back to life, a new zipper installed in an expensive duffle bag that became useable again ... excellent work, nice man, I just think the prices are on the high side, that's why 4 stars instead of 5.

In RI for a wedding and I was in a pinch for dress shoes. Went in, guy was super nice and helpful. Came out in less than 15mins with a new pair for a good price. Definitely recommend!

My son's shoes did not arrive on time for the first day of school so he needed some asap - only problem was he was in Portsmouth (with no car) and I am in Miami. I found Irvings Shoe Store on Yelp. I called, Stewart answered, gave me three options and my son had his school shoes within the hour. He was friendly, helpful and eager to help. What a pleasure.
