I rate the gym on the employees that run the gym. This gym is run by a guy named Anthony M. The staff is excellent and very friendly. It's clean but at times it could be cleaner on weekends.

I went to enroll and everyone was really nice until we got to the personal training part where the trainer was insisting on taking the classes, we asked him the prices and he didn't want to show us, and after insisting he showed us, we told him we would wait until I can go because I'm getting surgery in a couple days... Needless to say he changed his attitude and just pretty much was insisting, even though we didn't care they had a good "deal" and that pretty much left a bad environment after. We then tried cancelling the membership without even asking for a refund just to get it cancelled and they made us go do it in person, we went, they told us the boss wasn't there and the same guy was insisting on sending us on our way because they would call us back which they never did... At the end my mom had to call angrily to demand a cancellation because we tried multiple times and they always gave excuses and hung up when we called, and still we were never able to talk to the manager.

I have been in this place for 3 years because before it seemed good to me but now I don't like it because almost all the machines do not have the part that is useful for machine weights and that creates a problem because I waste my time waiting for someone to vacate a machine to take the tool out and put it in another machine and many of the machines don't have them. I went to ask for more and they told me not to send for more when you are actually paying for a membership that is not so cheap, another thing is that the machines are very old and dirty, lastly there is never soap in the bathrooms. and one tells them and they are not interested in providing hand soap. I think it's time to look for another gym for me. I'm very sorry but a lot of things have changed in this place and I'm sad about that since it's very serious about my house.

I would not recommend this exercise facility to anyone who is not a serious body builder. The common area literally smelled like mold and vomit. It was the dirtiest gym I've ever been in. There was a lot of weight dropping, EXTREMELY loud rep grunting/screaming, a person singing out loud, and all the free weights were disorganized. The benches in the free weight area are on top of each other, NO room. This place is not for the faint of heart. Considering how expensive the monthly fee is, you'd think it would reflect in presentation.
The only positives were advanced leg machines and front desk staff were kind.
I will not return to LA Fitness again, and I'm a lifelong gym participant. This place is like the 1980's World Gym atmosphere. Smh....

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for about a year now using the Pawtucket and Cranston, Rhode Island facilities. A consistent issue with visiting the gyms has been guests openly playing personal music on portable speakers or boomboxes loudly. At times the music is so loud it carries over the din of the gym’s music and background noise and across the entire fitness floor. As you can imagine this can be distracting and potentially dangerous when the sound comes out of nowhere in the middle of a squat set with hundreds on pounds on your back. The music is so loud at times that it carries through earbuds.
I stopped using the Pawtucket location entirely as it seemed to be embedded in the culture there and now drive an additional 20 miles round trip to go to the Cranston location. Cranston is an improvement but at times the music is oppressive and always surprising. I was trying to use the toilet last week when music came blasting out of the shower stall at an incredible volume. On three separate occasions I brought the issue to the attention of management and have been met with a reluctant response to deal with the issue. When I spoke to management today about the loud music being played on the floor he suggested “I throw a weight at the guy’s head”. I’m really not sure where to go from here as I enjoy the facilities and the diverse crowd, but there seems to be reluctance to enforce policies that make the gym a usable space for everyone.

I’m new to the gym. Good selection of machines. Super crowded after 4. Impossible to get on a bench. Definitely lacking a bit of gym etiquette. Upstairs has a lot of cardio machines. But treadmills are dated - no built in fans- and second floor is very warm. But cost is reasonable.

Hot tub was down for a long time, pool down today, not always clean, 3 of 6 stair masters down. Overall poorly maintained, though the staff is good, with the exception of maintenance.

Well what can I say that isn’t already noticeable when you walk in. Equipment everywhere bathrooms dirty and sweat all over everything but the door handle. If you come to this gym might as-well also clock in as the janitor.

You first walk in after finding plenty of parking and see that they have a TON of equipment and facilities. The price isn't super expensive compared to most other commercial gyms in the area. It seems good. Unfortunately a ton of machines are broken and take forever to get repaired, most of the staff is unfriendly (there were a couple people that were nice, at least). All of the free weights will be left all over the place, as there is zero enforcement of gym etiquette. Machines will be left covered in sweat by apathetic people. Overcrowding is a massive issue if you work any sort of 9-5. And there will always be at least one person blasting music from their cellphone or bluetooth speaker. Would recommend elsewhere.

Trainer Nadine, just extremely rude. knocked my whole phone and set up over didn’t even check on my phone or apologize, instead laughes unprofessional with her client. then today i’m recording myself and she decides to stand right in front of my camera, then when i go to retrieve my phone and personal items she doesn’t move nor does she apologize.
Entitlement at its finest, and it is not okay.
Rude trainer that creates a tense environment.
0/5 stars if i could.

I go in for brisk workouts all the time because I have the benifit and the time and I one day briefly finish my set and got my wallet stolen. I didn't bother filing a police report but I will warn everyone of the area!!!!

Instead of shutting the heat off they heat the place because the employees are cold while you make the customers hot and completely uncomfortable. It's a gym not a office building. Not to mention the carpet is disgusting. If it's a cold day please leave the heat on 58 max you don't need heat or ac when it's supper cold out people heat the place up enough. Save money to buy carpeting or vinyl tile.
