Megan was awesome! She definitely gave me a great color and cut that absolutely suites me. I would definitely recommend this salon to my family and friends. Sasha was so friendly and helpful, too. The salon was super clean and had a professional but modern vibe. 10/10 had a great experience.

Went to Shimmer for the first time today, as I'm new to the area. Loved the vibe, cute, clean and comfortable, and the staff was so nice! Service was great as well, Megan really understood what I wanted for my cut/color and delivered! Left feeling great and was just what I was looking for. They also have snacks and drinks and they offered me a disposable facemask so I wouldn't get hair product on mine - above and beyond! Really great spot in North Smithfield, I'll be back!

I love everything about this salon... From being treated as soon as you walk in the door, the warm lavender towels around your neck and the snack and drinks provided.... They make you feel special while there. I love this place and will go back....

Nichole saved my hair after it was destroyed at another salon (and when said salon tried to "fix" it they made it so, so much worse. Knowing I was going out of town the next day for a business trip, I was beside myself with embarrassment and anxiety -- Nichole squeezed me in and fixed me! Plus in the year since that happened we've worked together on a plan to get my hair to the healthiest it's ever been! Her expertise is astounding - she is skilled and KNOWS what is best for your hair, what your hair is capable of, and she is HONEST and up front about it so you leave feeling confident that your hair looks it's best! Of course it's also spotlessly clean and a welcoming environment - it's very posh and Nichole has a great eye for decorating! I'll never go anywhere else and will follow her if she ever moves shop! Thank you so much!!

This review is late in coming. A second trip to this salon proved detrimental. I don't know what went wrong. My first trip went really well, but I went back last fall/winter around November and got my hair cut again. A common problem people have with my hair is that it's thick and they cut the left layers shorter than the right layers, which I really dislike. I can't handle the asymmetry. Also short layers don't really work well in my hair because the top layers end up curling under and the bottom layers flip outward and I look crazy. There was one spot in my hair that was SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than all of the rest of my hair. Almost a hole. I had to go to another salon to have it fixed and because of how it was cut they had to cut off SO much of my hair in order to make it even. I've been growing my hair out from a pixie cut and had to lose a lot of length so there were many tears involved. After a nice first trip I was very disappointed in the follow up.

I've been looking for a new salon for a while, and I think I've found the one! The salon is immaculate. Clean, beautifully decorated and inviting. The staff are warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. Megan gave me what might be the best haircut I've ever had. I will definitely be back.

Went for my holiday color and cut today. Booked my next 4 appointments and was given a scratch and win card. Scratched off a star. Won a fantastic mini Aria blow dryer! Love my hair and love the team at Shimmer! Thanks Nicole!

I'm growing my hair out of a terrible haircut gone wrong and with my wedding coming up I was terrified to get it trimmed. I was also terrified to try a new salon, but Shimmer was fantastic. The salon itself is really clean and very pretty. Jessica at the front desk was friendly and professional and I can't say enough good things about Nicole. She fit me in last minute for a Saturday appointment, and she listened when I told her I wanted as little of my newly grown hair cut as possible! Usually you say that and still lose inches of hair! She cleaned up my messy grown out hair while leaving as much of the length as possible. It looks SO much better and I will definitely be going back for more elaborate styling once my hair gets a little longer. Thanks so much Nicole!

Amazing hair salon! They are very attentive and always accommodating for times. The salon is always clean and fabulously decorated. I am always greeted with a friendly smile. I usually get a balayage a couple times a year and get my eye brows tinted every month. I would highly recommend!!

I've been going here for s few years already, much better than all the places I've tried before. Good service, nice location, girls always decorate the place and prepare small surprises. They have very good hair products for sale as well.
