I threw something away in the dumpster once, and the owner/manager/employee walking by yelled, "That'll be five dollars!". Then he mumbled something to himself. My question is, what is the difference if I throw it there vs. the trash next to the gas pumps? Also, I get gas here all the time, so I am a paying customer as well, not someone just walking by.

Don't let the sign fool you, bring cash otherwise it will be 10 cents more a gallon for 87 octane gasoline.

Price on street less than at the pump

This is the 2nd time in 6 mo-I was charged the wrong price-stated cash price for vpower is 4.19, I had .30 off w s&s rewards. I was charged 4.09 (I noticed after I started pumping). I went back in to ask the cashier about this and, was told "the prices changed this morning, I've not changed the signs yet" (it was mid afternoon)...I told him he had a responsibility to mention this FIRST to paying customers-esp one's looking to save a cpl cents paying cash and using rewards...he didn't care or comment. I came to Yelp to leave the review and had a similar one started that I'd never posted turned off by this place for the last time

Kind of questionable business practices. They advertise a gas price of 10 cents less a gallon on the large sign with a very small word saying cash near it. The pump also has a sign showing 10 cents less without the word cash near it. Pump will display price without savings, in this case 5 cents less due to using a shell loyalty card. I know businesses pay a small fee for card sales but most people don't use cash anymore especially due to covid. They really shouldn't be giving a discount for cash use in my opinion.

Easy access to gas pumps. Retail store is clean.

There's always an issue with the pumps. Either they don't work or they are unable to read your credit card or fuel rewards card correctly. The people inside the store are pretty much useless. If a simple gas station can frustrate the hell out of you, this is the place!

It's a gas station, what more can I say? Staff is always friendly, pumps always seem functional. There's never long waits either inside or outside waiting for fuel.

Meh. Nothing special here. Functional. The gas pumps are digital and fairly clean, the parking lot is small, only about 4-5 cars total. They offer gasoline grades 87, 89, 93. There is an air compressor and a vacuum available, both machines only take quarters and the price seems to change week to week. The FoodMart has your regular assortment of garbage food, candy, and cooler drinks. Lottery and smokables available here also. There is no public bathroom. There is a cigarette butt receptacle and a trashcan directly outside food Mart. The staff is friendly, not entirely English speaking, and mostly disinterested. No car wash. North Providence police frequently post here, this is a reasonably safe location.

I stopped here on a weekday morning for a simple snack, but ended up with a side order of aggravation .... This Shell features a tiny convenience store, eight gas pumps and a parking lot apparently full of booby traps (I'll explain later). I will give credit where it's due: the store was neat and clean (except for the very streaky windows - maybe Silent Bob needs to get on that ... hint, hint), which was the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one. Negatives include: no bathroom; no diesel; and a clerk who was dead silent the entire time I purchased my snack, which was a small cherry pie. The parking lot, particularly the area around the underground gas tank fill covers, has several obstacles, including a orange cone. There was also a milk crate, although I think that at least was over one of the fill covers, which appeared to be missing the outer cover or something. So I left the parking lot and got on Smith Street, heading toward the city, when a pedestrian on the passenger side of the road started waving wildly at my work truck and then pointed at it. At first, I thought he might be a crazy homeless person, but I figured I'd better pull over and look at my truck. I guess I ran over the orange cone back at Shell, and it somehow got caught under the truck (funny, I didn't hear any noise). I was in a hurry, so I just extricated the cone out from under my truck and didn't bother to drive back to Shell with it. The second part of my aggravating Shell experience was when I started to eat my cherry pie and realized it was stale. When I was stopped at a light, I examined the box, and saw it was almost a month past the expiration date! Now I don't feel so bad about their stupid cone ....
