Check the dates on the bottles of Coke!! The bottle I bought on Wednesday, October 9, had a date of August 19, 2024 on it! I thought it tasted odd; now I know why! Didn't agree with me and gave me a stomach ache for two days. I hadn't been in Shaw's in awhile, and this doesn't exactly encourage me to return!!

David the Customer Service Manager went above and beyond to help out a customer. He was persistent, caring and showed empathy. This will always be my favorite Shaws. Thank you David for always being there! It’s this level of commitment to customer satisfaction that doesn’t go unnoticed.

The grocery pick up is pure chaos. They keep messing up my orders.
The nighttime manger has no clue how to do his job. He informed he could not help me and I had to wait for the morning manager. I have no faith that manager will be any better.
They string you along promising to deliver groceries they forgot to include when the order was picked up. I am constantly having missing items. The orders are routinely delayed. It is pure chaos.
I will be shopping elsewhere from this point. The lack of professional behavior is glaring.
I would give Shaw's zero.stars of I could.

Managers bully their workers on disability and I was bullied and intimidated out of the job before I could make a report I asked to make the manager set me up to be fired despite me being on disability i want to contact somebody about being abused as a employee here I had my rights violated the manager I spoke to scared me also refused to answer questions about my pay she got so angry I almost thought she was going to hurt me after she did that she had a other manager intimidate me in the morning so i would be too scared to file a report I feel very neglected after working here.
Edit: Shaws has not made any effort to contact me and I’m registered on disability so they took full advantage of me and bullied me out my job they should be held responsible. I contacted them and haven’t heard back. I feel violated. I have screenshots of me emailing them and not hearing back. It’s now July 30th 2024 and they ignored me after they bullied me out my job. Despite the reply on this review they’ve made NO EFFORT to help the abuse they put me through. I’m disgusted with Shaws as a whole company as a former employee who was neglected. I can say for certain now since it’s been weeks since then that they don’t care about their disabled workers because they haven’t even reached me back.
If you’re somebody who’s on disability like me stay away from this company they still haven’t even contacted me about the abuse I went through its borderline insane they get away with mistreating their disabled workers

Easily understandable why the mangers have to treat mentally ill people like garbage, it helps them feel better about their miserable lives working at an overpriced grocery store. Also their employees like to manipulate and lie about having “great prices” when really you’re paying TRIPLE the price of the same produce items you can get at Aldi’s. Same brands. Shaws is overcharging you. If you’re mentally ill their managers will speak to you with a rude tone, will look at you with devil eyes. The managers here do not care about their mentally ill workers and will intimidate Them when they want to come in to file a report. Couldn’t even feel safe enough to speak to the manager about what happened because he already told me what happened despite not being there proving that this establishment defends managers who hassles disabled workers. Being bullied out of a job is nothing less than discrimination. I was bullied out of my job here. Shaws is a company that doesn’t care for disabled people. They don’t want you here. The manager also lied and refused to answer a question about my money meaning they possibly screwed up my paycheck and refused to let me discuss it which is borderline illegal. I kept asking her if managers have the ability to change pay because another manager said they did and she refused to answer she kept giving me devil eyes and said repeatedly “get back to work” despite not knowing if I was currently being paid. She wanted me to work under the stress of not knowing I was getting paid. What happened to me was an injustice

I have been a customer at this location (North Providence, RI) for close to 24 years. As I have vegetarian family members, I liked Shaw's meat free burgers, sausages and fish selections. On Wednesday June 21, about 10 am I finished shopping and entered register #3, available light was on. As I began to unload groceries, a cashier ran over, shut the light off and swatted me away. No explanation, no "sorry but I can take you over here", just walked away. I went to the customer service desk explaining that apparently customers in the cashier line are just an inconvenience so that I will be leaving the cart with $200 of groceries right where I was refused service. There are plenty of other grocery store options. I walked out and went to Aldi's instead. I won't be back.

First off I’d like to say that I do pick up orders here very often. And a few girls that work there in that department are excellent. But I do have to complain that the substitutions are ridiculous- they literally make zero sense. They substitute things that I never usually want and then when things are out of stock they don’t even substitute- it makes zero sense- my bread was out of stock, why wouldn’t you substitute it will a different bread!!!! Now I have no bread for my kids and I have to go into the store when I placed a pick up order so I wouldn’t have to. They need to have a shopper who cooks and has a clue about how to substitute items.
It’s very frustrating. And again, it’s not everyone or every time but I usually have a problem- whether I’m missing g a bag, can’t get something I want… and so on. You should seriously work on this.

Its an ok place. But unfortunately not all employees there are friendly. Great employees are Micheala, David, Tommy, Paris, jake and several more. I can share an experience where i was attended by a racist employee that didnt welcome me nor even acknowledge me. You can even see her snatch the money of my hands. Real nasty experience. I have the video of that experience. But it wont let me post here. Reach me on Facebook and i will be happy to share it.
06/15/2021 Update on my review. You would think that someone would reach out to me about my experience. Not a fat chance! Don't say you weren't warned!
03/08/2022 With huge pride I like to report
That today I met with General Manager Jeff! Boy, what a gentleman! I couldn't get over of the fact that Shaws Supermarket finally got it right under the management department! He treated me and my wife extremely cordial and respectful. Jeff is exacly what they needed as far as manager. He even gave my wife a gift card which was kind of him but not necessary . Never the less we were greatful. I can finally see a good future for Shaws. I couldn't be prouder and happier to belong to the Shaws Family. Ty

The following interaction left me annoyed and unpleased with the customer service.
I came in for Sunset tomatoes that were priced at 1.99/lb. The cashier Ricardo rang me up for heirloom tomatoes (which are very distinct and look much different) which were priced at 4.99/lb. Cashier seemed upset and annoyed that I would even say anything about the price. He rolled his eyes at me as well. The bagger helping checked the price for me and I was correct about it being at 1.99/lb (as these were not heirloom tomatoes!). But the manager able to adjust the price didn’t even price it right, just simply applied a discount that was not accurate. Instead of inputting the appropriate item he just took off $4. Now I appreciate I got some money back but it was only about 2/3 of what it should’ve been.
Math:
1.99/lb x 2.05lbs= $4.08
4.99/lb x 2.05lbs= $10.23
I received a $4 discount.
Cashiers should have more training about what products are there that are being sold as it is a huge change in price if charged incorrectly.
In previous experiences I have also had baggers have no respect for the food bought, inappropriately bagging items. I know from friends who have worked at other supermarkets that they are taught to bag a specific way to prevent damage to customers goods. That is not the case when I go to this Shaws as they randomly through items in bags.
