A true asset to Sailing and Maritime Community. In a league to itself In curation and execution that touches on all important and relevant points in a way that would appeal to a gentleman as much as child. Robustly and Professionally staffed and well managed which is unique for Hobbyists museum of this type, which says a lot about the sport and wealth associated with it.

Lots of interesting and interactive exhibits to go through. For the subject itself, it had a challenge of creating interest, especially from children. Unsure of the price being fair as my ticket was paid prior to my arrival by another family member. I wouldn't pay more than $12 for the experience. A good 2-3 hour time spent learning about sailing, creating your own sailboat and competing with others in activities.

What a great museum for the whole family. Relatively small but so much to do and see without being overly crowded. Absolutely fantastic integration of technology into the learning experience. Many museums have an over abundance of text plus some kind of technology, but it usually feels forced and not particularly relevant to the subject. The Sailing Museum strikes the right balance on both fronts--the text is highly informative but sufficiently brief and the interactive technology is fun, well-conceived, and actually educational.

Great museum to check out. It's easy to forget how Newport was the dominant sailing capital for many years with the Americas Cup. One of the more interactive museums as well. You get a wrist band that you can use for a unique experience. The gift shop is less gimmicky as most as the products are both useful & quality products.

Not what I expected, in a good way. A nicely thought-out, interactive experience. Would definitely recommend for families, a great rainy day activity! Both educational and fun.

Extremely ethnocentric. No mention of any sailors from any other culture. Was hoping to learn more about Pacific Islanders, Africans, Asian sailors. Might be better called a sailing museum about modern racers

Racing. The Sailing Museum is a nice activity to do while in Newport. It’s small but detailed in what they present. However I think it should have the word “racing” in the title because it is really all about sailboat racing. This doesn’t detract from the experience but I wasn’t aware of that. I think my favorite thing was the numerous interactive exhibits that were there.

Positively surprised by this new, little museum in the heart of Newport. Highly interactive exhibits which make the visit fun and informative.

We had a really good time on a rainy afternoon. The museum has a bunch of interactive activities that you can access once you scan your bracelet that doubles as your ticket. The building looks small but once you scan the bracelet and start completing all these tasks you need a full hour to experience everything and we didn't expect to have so much fun!Wear comfortable clothes and get ready to learn more than you think about sailing!

It was a nice museum. My 5 year old really enjoyed it and how interactive it is. I took a star off because the employee who is there to help if you need it wouldn't give us any space to experience it on our own. Every single time we went to a new activity she was right there explaining how to do it, even though it was all explained. If I needed help I would have asked. Took away from my experience and enjoyment.

As a competitive sailor and coach, I highly recommend the museum for anyone of any age! It is super family friendly and very informative. The staff are all professional and experienced so they can answer your questions. The museum can be a little hard to navigate but it's not too important to do it in "order."

Visited this over the weekend. While I am a sailing fan, I am not a “sailor.” That having been said, this place was awesome! The interactive exhibits are incredibly realistic. I left here wanting to go sailing and got a sailing school recommendation for my hometown!
