The Brenton Hotel greets you as soon as you drive into Newport, which in my opinion, could not have been a better experience. The hotel is in an perfect location, better than the one in front of it right on the wharf, in my opinion. Easy access to everything. The staff was beyond courteous and service was incredible. Love the lobby/bar/lounge where you are able to get amazing food and drinks. We were unable to take advantage of the rooftop bar but visited for a quick peak at the amazing view. Rooms are modern, clean, and it's the little touches that just make your day....like free ice cream near the self-service water station. A perfect hotel for a perfect weekend getaway in Newport RI. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

New, clean, and well located right on the waterfront. Friendly check-in: valet parking crew are great and so is front desk team. They have complimentary EV charging. Our East Facing room on 4th floor faced America’s Cup Ave and was well sound insulated with plenty of sunrise in through floor to ceiling window. Others face South with a view along the waterfront. They have a pantry on each floor with sparkling and still water on tap, plus complimentary ice cream sandwiches and pop-cicles a nice post dinner treat. Our room was very spacious with plenty of seating, desk and table space, a couch. Plenty of outlets. Comfortable bed. Modern large bath with walk-in shower. Housekeeping did their job: room was well stocked with towels, bathrobes etc, and very clean [don’t forget to tip the hardest working folks in any hotel ? There’s a roof deck we didn’t have time to check out during evening hours. Complimentary coffee is served beginning at 6am. At 7am the restaurant opens for breakfast.
One glitch final day: shower temperature valve stopped working- constantly changing from hot to cold. Workable but made showering a chore before we checked out. Bill was accurate and check out was quick and easy.

This hotel is beautiful and very well managed. From the valet greeting and happy, professional team to the front desk team. Everyone was super helpful, engaged and thoughtful in their interactions with us.
We even had the pleasure of meeting the GM when we had to extend our stay unexpectedly and he stepped up to accommodate and put us on a waitlist which ended up working in our favor. It really made us feel a sense of home given how welcoming he and his team were.
Our room was beautiful, clean and had terrific views of the marina.
The food was also great and they have a nice dining outlet for drinks, dinner and breakfast.
Rooftop is nice to catch sunset as well and they have bar service weather permitting most nights.
Def recommend!

The Brenton Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel right in the heart of Newport and within walking distance to lots of eateries, shopping, and the marina. With the help of Rachael, sales and event coordinator at The Brenton, we hosted a fabulous corporate women's retreat that was very successful. I loved the views and the design of the hotel is a whole vibe itself. I would love to return one day and thank the staff for hosting our group so warmly.
Things to note, this location does not have an in-house spa or swimming pool. Although the Marriot's spa is next door, so that didn't cause any issues for us, we booked our group's services there. They were great at accommodating a large group, very organized and helpful.
The rooftop is a hit or miss on service upstairs, I think the rooftop could use a bit more structure. It would be great to have a permanent bar and service with set hours seasonally.

We didn't stay here, we went up to the rooftop for drinks. It's beautiful, great views and plenty of seating. Be aware that the bar upstairs is limited, so if you want something specific get it at the downstairs bar and bring it up with you. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and this is a great way to start out your evening.

Had a wonderful short visit in Newport. The location is great and my room had a beautiful view of the harbor. The service on arrival and at night was excellent. Unfortunately at breakfast, it took over 30 mins to bring me my only order of yogurt. It seems like the waitresses are not trained to be looking for guests who are trying to catch their eye or need assistance. Bed was comfortable and there was very little noise. Nice touch was umbrellas were available for the guests with the non stop rain.

Tremendous! Best hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. Well appointed and thoughtful decor, great amenities (free sodas and ice cream?!).
Friendly staff. Very romantic. Take some wine to the Rooftop patio with great views of the harbor and baseball field. Location is positive and negative. Close to everything you’d want to walk to. Also close to early morning street noise. But if you want quiet stay at a beach house or in the country. Highly recommended and hope to be back someday.

Room was very comfortable and spacious. Lobby/bar/lounge area is pleasant, although near deserted when I was there. Location not exactly central, but convenient enough. Water on the floor a great perk for me. But overall value for money was not there in my view, given the significantly higher rate we paid compared to pretty much all nearby alternatives. I will head somewhere else next time unless the price is significantly lower.

I did not stay at this hotel. I met friends for cocktails at the bar. This bar has amazing bartenders that make really good cocktails. The aesthetic is amazing. Highly suggest coming here for pre dinner drinks.
