I shop at the Bellevue S&S and have for years. In these times food prices Nationwide are high and continually rise/fall as costs do the same. It's just the way it is In this economy. The Bellevue store does seem to have a front end crew that are polite and helpful. If self checkout were eliminated prices would be higher to cover payroll & benefits for cashiers. I have no problem with self checkout especially if front end help is ready to assist with a problem. I find the store is always clean and well stocked. Recently I was shocked by the $9.49 watermelons and did notice people were not buying them. The price was reduced to $3.69 after 1 week and then went to $3.49 w/digital coupons. Meat, chicken, seafood prices are crazy. Coupons and weekly flyer does help very much. BOGO items get raised or lowered to offer the gimmic. It is what it is and it is the same all over the U.S.. It's business!

Do not order from the bakery! We ordered a custom cake for a special event to be picked up at a specific time. The cake was not made. The only thing they offered was a sorry and half off a pre-made cake, then we settled on 60% off after talking to the manager, who was not even going to come over to apologize. Really disappointing, unacceptable and huge waste of time.

I am not a fan of writing one star reviews the majority of the time but man, stop and shop has gone downhill. This location isn't particularly different than any other, but the standard high prices are still there, and the self checkout machines are incredibly touchy and you need a cashier every other item. The icing on the cake though is they make you pay for paper bags that don't even have a handle.

I don't know how stop & shop is staying in business. The prices are about as high as the gourmet markets, they charge for bags, and their markets are too bright too much lighting that is

No live check out at 8 pm Wednesday night. 4 self check outs were open. A worker and his manager stood like statues and watched me unload, process, then bag $181.50 in groceries! To top off this insult, the worker TWICE raced over to an adjoining register to check out folks with 3-5 items in their hands …. Both times he returned to his statue position watching me work, never offering or just jumping in to load the 4 full bags. Ridiculous!!! Customer disservice at its high point. Wake up!
