The reality is that those who leave bad reviews still continue to go to that nail salon, so what is your goal? I saw a few people at that nail salon.

Star nails of Newport and Middletown are a great example of rudeness, poor quality, disinterest and worst yet unsanitary conditions! The owners don't care, and the general nasty culture/attitude is prevalent amongst all technicians
I agree with all the negative reviews I've seen.
Never a smile and never any interest in customer service. Impossible to discuss customer requests /complaints due to very little English spoken in the salon.
If you watch closely you will see highly unsanitary use of tools, materials etc.
I know of a couple of infections gotten there as well. Stay away!

I didn’t have a good service today. I don’t know what is his name but anyway he made my day go down. He didn’t cut my cuticles. The color really far cuticles and my toes nails shape look so stupid ??

I honestly do not know how they have only 3.8 stars. This had to be one of the top 5 best experiences I've ever had. They were able to take 3 of us on a Saturday (always an issue). When you open the door you aren't assaulted with an acetone smell, in fact the place is very clean. The pedis were consistent -- so many times we get the same thing, but all get different experiences and procedures. The staff was friendly. All of us had different manis (regular, dip, and gel uv), and all of us had excellent service. We even *got* manis, as typically you only get nails done and no one bothers with cuticles or massages. And, of course, the chair massage during the mani is out of this world. Do yourself a solid. GO. HERE.

I had a horrible experience here. First the people were mean the women laughed at me when I asked for a simple design. Then she cut my nails wayyyy to short when I asked to keep my tips and THEN she charged me extra because she “removed my tips”. And now after having the nails for a week which r gel it already chipped. AND IT COSTED 75 DOLLARS FOR REGULAR GEL NAILS like bruh what a rip off. I will never be going back in my life. It was over priced and a rip off DO NOT GO

Stylist: Josh is always wonderful. I ask for him when I make an appointment.
The receptionist, Ariel, is perfect. She is kind, respectful, and always polite. She always wears a smile and remembers who I am. So glad she is at Star on Bellevue.

Clean. Great location. ⭐⭐
Unpleasant Gina seemed annoyed throughout the 15 minutes she rushed thru the gel manicure that cost $40. My daughter had the same rushed experience with the man who served her.
Entirely dry the whole time- I was covered in pink gel powder.
Do they not soak cuticles? Weird.
I was uncomfortable with the shoulder smoothing session (perhaps a massage if using pressure and not using the flat part of her hand.). Awkward!
Did we do something wrong? We tipped $10 each because I know these folks work hard. But totally would not recommend this spot. ?

We brought a large group to Star Nails and they were INCREDIBLE! They had amazing communication leading up to our appointment, they were extremely organized, they got us all in at the same time (I feel like most nail salons say that they will do this, but it never ends up actually happening), and their services were all great! We were all very impressed and so happy we came here. A special shoutout to the women running the front desk, she said she was new there, and she was really the star of the show!

I loathe getting my nails done at Star Nails. It doesn't even deserve the 1 star. The technicians and desk workers are indifferent and insolent to the point of being incredibly rude. They never greet you or ask you how you want your nails done (like clipping, shaping or cutting cuticles). The only thing going for it is the convenience. It used to be very clean and now that the pandemic is over, it seems like they don't try very hard to keep the area and the nail toolkits clean. Gina and the men are the worst but in 5 years, I've never left there in a good mood. Somebody with excellent customer service skills should definitely open a nail salon or day spa in Newport and turn this place on its ear!

Went in today after refusing to go for years, ended up having an awful experience! The entire time with the drill, the lady filed down to my skin. She also ended up filing my SKIN so hard she sliced my finger- this drew blood as well! After I said something she was very rude and gave me an attidude.Service: Nail extensions

Wish I could give zero stars!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WAY OVERPRICED!! Went in for dip powder manicure with tips and the guy I had did an awful job!! It’s an extra $15 to have almond shaped nails which no one told me until after they did the shaping and no base coat for powder done at all! Three of my nails broke within a DAY of getting them done! Worst experience ever and Im never going back again. Employees were extremely rude and constantly on phones. It was a huge waste of $80 and I cannot believe it was $80 for a MANICURE! Save your money and go somewhere else! ANYWHERE ELSE

Very good service. We’re traveling for an event we’re attending and needed to find a nail salon. They fit us in within minutes even though they were busy. My wife and I had mani pedis. They came out great. They paid attention to details and had a lot to offer. Great service all around. We’d go again when in the area.Services: Foot massages

I had a terrible experience here. No one was friendly and they treated my requests (color, design, shape, etc) like a joke and acted like I was high maintenance for simple requests. They literally laughed in my face multiple times. They kept saying that they didn't have time to do things when they took my appointment two hours before close. They were so eager to leave that even 30 minutes before close they were already mopping around my chair. They severely up charged me $28 for a simple French tip design. I never go to this place and I only came in for a promotion they were having, and I will never come again.
