We had two nights booked. Due to a family emergency we could not make the first night. The next afternoon upon check in we were told we had to book another room and pay a cancellation fee. After a very heated argument and the guy behind the desk yelling at my fiancé about it he finally put us in a room without charging us for a second room. Then said check in wasn’t till three. We said we should have been here anyway we’re not waiting all day. He claimed the room was being cleaned then yelled “ fine i don’t care just go up” the room was clean and not a housekeeper in sight. No hospitality what so ever. Didn’t get his name. Young guy nose ring.

We love this place and will definitely come back. Very central to walking to everything, she's and restaurants. The only downside was when we checked I, yes check-in is at 3 p.m. we knew that, and we used the time to walk around. We came back about 2 p.m. and the desk clerk wasn't very accommodating, meaning she really didn't make an effort to get us into a room. The hotel wasn't packed. It wasn't until the other clerk came from behind that she said something to her. All of a sudden, we had a room. It's a minor thing. I would just suggest she learn how to be a bit more customer focus instead of focusing on the "rules of timing." Or she could have said "oh I'm sorry, but there isn't anything I can do at this moment". We travel often and understand, but she wasn't very communicative that's my only negative comment.Walkability: You are right in the center of things.Food & drinks: Many restaurants within walking distance to choose from.

Great place to stay. Location was perfect for us and close to everything we wanted to do or visit. Parking included.Rooms: Nice rooms with efficiency kitchens. Roomy living and dining rooms. Spacious bedroom and nice bathroom. Only dig would be no tv on the bedroom.Nearby activities: Close to everything downtown. Literally steps away from our favorite restaurants.Safety: No issues with safety.Walkability: Steps away from all you need.

Room was spacious and clean. Excellent view and location. Soundproofing needs to be improved but all staff were very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed staying there.

I stayed here years ago and loved it. Couldn’t make a complaint if I tried. I was given a two story space because it was a down season, even though I booked something smaller. Views aplenty, nice breeze, good staff, easy parking, local, friendly guests, and comfortable beds.

If you are OK with a 2 star place, this is it. We booked for 3 nights but checked out after 1 night and found something much nicer.

Stayed here this weekend for little weekend getaway. Picked this place due to location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Perfect location in the middle of everything. Check in was nice and easy, the woman who checked me in was very friendly, pleasant, professional and welcoming. Only reason I didn't give 5-stars was no pool. Other than that love this place. The rooms are very clean, cozy, nicely decorated and spacious. I got the one bedroom suite and felt like a condo I would live in. The bathroom was big with big glass shower that had great water pressure. The bedroom was big with very comfortable bed. If stayed for more than weekend, no TV In bedroom would have loss a star but for weekend stay not a big issue. The living room are was very nice and spacious, with table & 4 chairs, 2 couches (one a sleeper sofa) and separate kitchenette area. The wood ceiling with exposed beams are really nice touch. The hallways are a little blah with light gray paint and beige rugs but very clean and freshly painted. The restaurant/bar in basement of building was great too. Would definitely stay here again !!

If you like ratatouille, this is your place. He won't cook for you, but the mice will eat any snacks you may leave around. The parking cost was a joke being parking in Newport is free. The rooms are outdated and have a horrible smell, and the heating unit did not work to our expectation in this frigid weather. I'd recommend staying anywhere else, even the Seamans down the road would offer a better accommodation.

I'm not sure why there are bad reviews, my wife and I were on our honeymoon and after leaving NYC we drove up to RI to check out Providence and then Newport. I booked this hotel just hours before we arrived and had no issues whatsoever when we arrived. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and even gave a recommendation for The Red Parot across the street for dinner based on what we wanted. From the pictures on Expedia we knew the room would be nice but did not expect it to be a full blown apartment, the only thing it was missing was a stove. We walked in and my wife almost didn't want to go to dinner (remember it's our honeymoon). The bed was great and the view over the harbor was amazing, I've got this place saved on Google Maps as a favorite because we will be back again.
