They are closed for two months during the summer PCS season. Right when people need stuff because there's no loan locker here.Absolutely horrible planning.

Please check their NMCRS Newport Facebook or Instagram page for opening days. This thrift shop is entirely run by volunteers and they do a fantastic job but sometimes need a break!

they got really good stuff here and i’m glad it’s on the base so civilians don’t take the thrifted goods that are meant for military members that serve their country. also very good prices, ignore the 1 star reviews they’re all civilians who are crying that they can’t steal our stuff.

I think it would be extremely helpful if I had actually known that this is on Navy base. I cannot get in because I have no military ID. It was somewhat embarrassing to hand over my license, have the guy call the other guy telling him I'm there by mistake, giving my license plate and driver's license number and need to do a Uturn. This should be the VERY FIRST INFORMATION item listed for this store.
