We had an amazing stay here! The room was nicely remodeled, clean and very spacious. The balcony was lovely. We were supposed to stay for only one night but we loved it so much we decided to extend the trip. Also, loved the breakfast to your door thing. Would definitely stay here again when in Newport.

We had a poor experience right from the get go. We were at the door of the hotel with our heavy luggage, and saw a couple behind us with no luggage. We thought that they were returning to their rooms, and we let them enter first, opening and holding the door for them. They barely thanked us, and instead of going to their room, they went straight to the desk for check in. We had to wait a good 10 minutes, fuming and staring at them, but they skillfully avoided eye contact with us. We just could not believe how rude some people can be. The man at the desk was very friendly, but did not do anything to correct the situation. It was surreal. Apart from that, we liked the hotel and its location. Our room was spacious, and breakfast was good. We also liked the large Nespresso machine in the room, with plenty of pods to use. Noise was a little bit of a problem with upstairs guests (steps, flushing toilet etc..), and also very noisy garbage collection in the early morning

I was blown away with the experience that my husband and I had at the Mill Street Inn in Newport — so much so that I had to leave a review!
We chose to make the upgrade to a deluxe suite and it was SO worth it. The space felt like we were in our own little apartment + our room even had a door for street access which was super convenient. The king sized bed + rainfall shower were also very much appreciated and added to the "luxe" feel of our stay.
By far the most unexpectedly amazing part of our stay was the breakfast. We read about the complimentary breakfasts before our visit and didn't expect much (as hotel offerings are so often lackluster). We were pleasantly surprised with super fresh ingredients and a fun assortment that varied daily (nothing major -- think croissants and greek yogurt parfaits). It was SO fun to place our orders each evening, and those light bites definitely gave us the fuel we needed to do lots of walking and sightseeing throughout Newport.
Mill Street Inn was super clean, in a great location, and equipped with a staff that is quite kind and accommodating. We would definitely stay again!

It was a really lovely, friendly, and comfortable accommodation!
Newport, Rhode Island's representative tourist destination, has a peaceful and warm atmosphere, and the Mill Street lodging was especially helpful for my trip as the resident staff was very friendly and provided detailed information on tourist attractions and how to ride the trolley.
I shared the accommodation with my mom, and she said the bed was so comfortable that she wanted to buy one. The breakfast delivered to your door at the time you want in the morning was also very delicious and the best??

Where do I start? The location of the hotel is great. Our room was very nice. We enjoyed having two levels of living space, a refrigerator, deck, great pillows and it was super quiet! They have a beautiful communal deck where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets But the showstoppers are the staff. We would like to acknowledge both Lori and Chelsea for AMAZING customer service. There is nothing better than feeling respected and cared for as a hotel guest. Long story short, we thought we booked our room for an additional day...mistakenly, we did not. They broke the news to me as I was lounging on the deck without a care in the world. Lori and Chelsea informed us the hotel was completely booked for the night and could not accommodate us. It was the weekend of the boat show and finding a hotel room was close to impossible. Lori and Chelsea came to the rescue and researched available hotel rooms and found us a the last room in a hotel in the area we needed to be in. Above and beyond to say the least. Lori and Chelsea are the type of employees a business owner dreams of. Thank you Lori & Chelsea, you area a cut above the rest! See you next year!!!

My wife and I enjoyed this quiet little hotel! The rooftop is great, with nice views of the bridge. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable. Their breakfast service is on point, and they offered delicious options.

This was hands down the best hotel I’ve ever been in! Huge shoutout to all the front desk staff, they were the sweetest, most accommodating people who really made our stay spectacular! The lobby is beautiful and there is always fresh fruit water and sangria. The complimentary breakfast completely exceeded my expectations and was amazing! The room was spacious, clean, and had wonderful amenities. The staff left a complimentary bottle of wine with a a hand written letter to celebrate my graduation. The hotel is in a perfect location and is only a five min walk to all the shops. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, but mainly I want to thank the front desk staff for being so accommodating! I cannot wait to come back!

Excellent experience from check in to check out. Staff was warm and welcoming. Room was modern, clean, and comfortable, and had everything you would look for in a room. Nespresso machine made a great cup of coffee, second only to the cold brew that came with breakfast that is delivered right to your door at your time of choice. Rooftop was a nice touch as well. Also a short walk from everything you would want to visit. We will be back here when we visit Newport next.

What find! I love the look inside and out. Very comfortable. Friendly staff. A Welcome Bag they present at check-in. A Welcome letter on the coffee table. A Nespresso machine. An iron/steamer with 11 or 12 fabric settings. So homey!

10/10 Location! Room we had was very nice with an updated new AC unit and a balcony with a beautiful view. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on our private little rooftop patio.
We stayed in Newport to visit all the quintessential Newport spots. Being at this hotel we only Ubered once to go to the Newport Car Museum.
We got to park our car at the hotel and left it there for the entirety of our trip. Hotel offers a little breakfast to get you going, but nothing that will truly fill you up, for me the breakfast was just enough.
Only suggestion for the hotel is allow guest to mirror link their phones to the TV so we can watch things from our phone like Youtube or allow internet access on the TV to watch Youtube.
Bottom line: highly recommended ?
Rooms: Only suggestion for the hotel is allow guest to mirror link their phones to the TV so we can watch things from our phone like Youtube or allow internet access on the TV to watch Youtube. New AC unit - Comfortable bed and pillows
Nearby activities: Almost everything Newport.
Walkability: Next to everything on a typical Newport itinerary of activities
Noteworthy details: Rooftop

Great location in the heart of Newport. Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast delivered to your room in the morning. Great view of the sunset from the rooftop. I was traveling for business but would be a great option for a trip with the wifey !

A great hotel, close to all the restaurants and shops by the waterfront, but far enough off the main street to be quiet at night. We stayed here for our anniversary and they were sweet enough to leave a nice card and gift in our room! We were also greeted with sangria and a bag of goodies upon check-in. We loved the sunset from the roof deck. We would highly recommend this hotel- you won't be disappointed.

The owners of this inn made a big mistake by choosing these water conserving toilets. There isn’t enough water to flush your toilet paper and waste. Replace these kiddy toilets with normal ones.
We also noticed centipedes on the bathroom floor. Apparently, this is common In these parts. Well it’s not normal to me. It tells me these critters are getting in through the toilet or water systems. Who knows what viruses or bacteria are hitching a ride. Then you think I am walking barefoot in this room. Not wishing for foot fungus, I wear shoes in the room until I go to bed.
The breakfasts are excellent.
