93 Pelham St, Newport“Beautiful inn located within walking distance to many things. The room was clean and comfy and the breakfasts were delicious. Staff is super friendly. The complimentary port, brandy, sherry and snacks were a nice touch. The only thing I would have liked would have been to have seasonal fruits also available daily along with the entree. The baked goods were a nice touch but maybe one baked good and one fruit. Just a thought. Otherwise, everything was lovely.
Rooms: We had a room with a fireplace, which turned out was not needed due to the warm weather. However, the pilot light stayed lit so that did warm up the room a little. We opened a window just a tad so that made it comfy.
Nearby activities: Very short walk to Broadway.
Safety: Very safe neighborhood.
Walkability: Walkable to lots of reataurants and other businesses”

2 Seaview Ave, Newport“The Cliffside Inn was an enjoyable stay, with a quiet location. If you’re looking to relax, this place checks all the boxes! It’s the “small things” that I appreciated the most: eating a peaceful breakfast on the front porch, having a coffee/tea bar accessible 24/7, the bottled water constantly stocked, etc. Plus being a block from the Cliff Walk adds to the relaxing environment. There are a few restaurants within walking distance as well.
My only complaint was the room size. I stayed in the Swann Room, which was very small. Though I was told of the small size upon booking - so it wasn’t a surprise. If you’re traveling solo, it’s enough space. But if you’re traveling with another person, it would be too cramped.
Overall, would definitely stay at another Lark property.”

75 Mill St, Newport“We had an amazing stay here! The room was nicely remodeled, clean and very spacious. The balcony was lovely. We were supposed to stay for only one night but we loved it so much we decided to extend the trip. Also, loved the breakfast to your door thing. Would definitely stay here again when in Newport.”
“We first came across Ivy Lodge in June 2022 and were completely in love with the whole experience. The building is so gorgeous and unique, everything from the common area to the rooms are so cozy and welcoming. Not to mention the fresh cooked breakfasts included are out of this world! We came back for a second trip in December 2023 and my fiancé proposed in the common space our last night there. Ivy Lodge will always hold a special spot in our hearts- looking forward to making a trip here every year!”
“The Brenton Hotel greets you as soon as you drive into Newport, which in my opinion, could not have been a better experience. The hotel is in an perfect location, better than the one in front of it right on the wharf, in my opinion. Easy access to everything. The staff was beyond courteous and service was incredible. Love the lobby/bar/lounge where you are able to get amazing food and drinks. We were unable to take advantage of the rooftop bar but visited for a quick peak at the amazing view. Rooms are modern, clean, and it's the little touches that just make your day....like free ice cream near the self-service water station. A perfect hotel for a perfect weekend getaway in Newport RI. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.”

29 Kay St, Newport“A top address for bed and breakfast in Newport. Small, nice and great service.
Rooms: It is an old but well-preserved house, which is decorated inside with many antiques to match the outside. This is what the rooms look like too. The whole thing seems very romantic. Of course you don't have a modern luxury bed. But everything was clean and the mattress was okay. What was striking was that the bathroom was in really great shape for such an old building.
Walkability: The location of the small hotel is very close to all of Newport's interesting downtown activities. You can leave the car behind and explore everything on foot from there. The owners have no problem if you leave your car in their parking lot all day because you want to do the cliff walk or other activities, for example.
Food and drinks: There was a small self-service breakfast, but it was made with a lot of love. The croissants, for example, were warm from the oven. We thought it was good. When the weather is nice you can also have breakfast outside on a very romantic garden terrace. Otherwise you sit inside and share a large table with others, which invites you to have interesting conversations”

14 Pelham St, Newport“My husband and I stayed on a Thurs - Sat night weekend in mid-October in the Studio Suite. The king size bed was perfectly comfortable and the pillows and coverings so cozy. The suite is located on the first floor and easy access in and out to both the front and courtyard doors. The large windows allow plenty of natural daylight in during the day and the blinds provide a nice darkening at night. (Not total blackout if that's your preference)
The room was huge, with tons of storage. Two closets are perfect for each person to have their own place to hang clothes. Also included was an iron with ironing board and a suitcase stand. The ample built-in storage allowed us to unpack and store suitcases out of the way.
The kitchen was nice to have to store leftovers in the fridge and make our own coffee in the room. We didn't eat in or cook but the dining table and seating would have been perfect for eating in.
The shower was roomy with great water pressure and included toiletries smelled delicious.
The rooms have keyless entry with pinpad locks on each door which was nice to not need to keep up with a keycard all weekend and easy for my husband and I to come and go at different times if needed. (He was a groomsman in a wedding so his schedule was a little different one day) The staff were very accommodating by texting if we needed anything each evening. The first night I requested extra towels and they had a full clean stack awaiting us in the room upon our return from dinner out.
Onsite parking was nice, and we never had an issue finding a spot. This hotel is PERFECTLY located in Newport and made walking anywhere a breeze! We attended a wedding at the International Tennis Hall of Fame while we were in town and we even walked to the venue, no problem. (Although it is uphill in that direction - so be aware in dress shoes)
This room does have a large set of windows facing Pelham Street, of the 3 nights we stayed only once were we disturbed by some street noise - late Saturday - loud group of guys once the bar closed - lasted about 5 min. No other noise was heard from outside or within the hotel.
We greatly enjoyed our stay here and Pelham Court Hotel will definitely be our top choice to stay on our next visit!”
“We stayed here for a couple nights in the Carrie Room and have nothing but great things! One of the best places I have stayed. The hospitality you are met with is above and beyond. The location is great- as parking can be difficult to find in NP you are able to park in the back here. So cozy and clean, and again, the people go above and beyond for you. Highly recommend!
Also, don’t miss out on the breakfast- it’s great!”

They provide great tips for planning your visit, restaurants, and shopping. Newport is like visiting Europe without having to leave the USA. Stay AT LEAST 3-4 days to get the best experience.”

352 Spring St, Newport“My wife and I were visiting Newport for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and chose to stay at the Samuel Durfee House based on its location and all the positive reviews. They were spot on. Our room was the Doris Duke Suite. We were impressed with how large, comfortable and clean it was. Heather and Michael were very accommodating and gave us excellent advice on things like dining and parking. Breakfast was phenomenal even the coffee was excellent. We had such a great weekend and know we will be back. I wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.”

503 Spring St, Newport“This place was seriously perfect. I had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, and honestly was a little hesitant, but overall I loved the experience. The location was perfect, we were here for a wedding and able to walk to everything. The rooms were clean. The staff were so friendly. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the conservatory, and they keep a bottle of wine out for you to sip and enjoy the view any time of the day. Would definitely stay again next time we are in Newport.
Walkability: Very walkable.”

22 Liberty St, Newport“The Attwater was an amazing hotel in Newport and I will surely return to this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is served every morning (and is delicious), amazing fresh chocolate chip cookies are available at night, and the location is so close to everything! And to top it off, Peter was so phenomenal and hospitable. He made sure our stay was wonderful and provided great recommendations and conversation. Thank you Peter and Attwater for an amazing first trip to Newport!”
“We stayed here for a 3-night stay and it was amazing! No elevator but they carried our luggage up for us! Great location that is walking distance from the harbor and all the cute shops/restaurants. Room was amazing (we were in the Captain’s Suite), most comfy bed and pillows ever!! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Afternoon chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch and so yummy! It rained the whole weekend and they provided us with umbrellas which was a lifesaver. 10/10 would recommend. We will deff be back next time we come to Newport!”

117 Memorial Blvd, Newport“The Chanler...A by the shore mansion hotel with stunning views and a beautiful lawn. Staff were very good with only one hiccup. (Unnecessary seating altercation with dinner hostess). Also, only 3 stars because of our small guest room size and using the unnecessarily difficult shower and phone has be figured out. (Yes, we were given quickly forgotten usage instructions). The biggie is NO elevator! Get ready for a workout. Their tour guide Jeff is outstanding. He knows the area and it's history and gave us a nice surprise. Also they offer a handy shuttle. Also our room had a very welcoming patio again with stunning views. I would certainly enjoy this hotel again”

1354 Whipple St, Newport“Did not stay here because they were full, but Ahmed the Front Desk Supervisor was very reassuring when helping me with my CNA questions and he added a note to my profile to make sure there wasn't any confusion about the "Pay Grade" of an Officer Candidate. I told somebody E-5 since that's what we are paid so my CNA says Petty Officer 2nd Class which I am not. Ahmed was very helpful in alleviating my concerns. OCS Class 01-25 LET'S GO”
“THE BEST LOCATION in Newport!!!! Brian is a plethora of information, knows all the in and outs of Newport. Sent us to great spots, and his baking is amazing. Great stay, thank you so much for everything.”
“Need to up the overall rating here. A number of the low ratings are clearly from before the renovation or new building (not sure which one). The newly opened 5 or 6-story building just inside the gates is beautiful. Essentially, a commercial hotel. Our room was excellent, clean, comfortable. Great location. Newport is very expensive so it's nice to have a place for $100 a night. Stayed over on a Saturday and couldn't have asked for more.”
“Super accommodating, very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in ground floor, 2 room suite. For those Jewish Sabbath observant: close proximity to Touro Synagogue and walkable sights, kosher options for breakfast, classic room keys for Shabbos.”
“Nice stay! We rented a unit for the Newport Jazz Festival and it was a perfect location! Coming again this year!
Walkability: Located in the center of all the action! Tons of things to do all within walking distance.”
“Excellent views from room and comfortable room in a great location. Only bad thing was no windows in the bedroom (1 BR unit) But you could leave the french doors open to get the light from the living area.
Walkability: Very walkable to wharf, restaurants, pubs, Goat Island”

405 Thames St, Newport“To find this facility as an after hours arrival is challenging. If I had not encountered other late arrival guests who had solved the mystery as well as some very helpful locals, I might have slept in my rental vehicle!
Now that that is behind me, it is a splendid location for roaming this exceedingly charming historical area.
Nearby activities: Plenty to explore, shop, experience and learn
Safety: Safe & secure
Walkability: Plenty of walking is available.”
“Me and my Wife celebrated 10 years of marriage here. Stayed 2 nights wonderful location. This place is in walking distance of a ton of places which was perfect. The manager Rick went above and beyond expectation and saw that everything was perfect. This was also our first bed and breakfast experience the food was awesome couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay. “Beautiful hotel right on the wharf and close to everything. The hotel staff is very friendly and the room looks new.
There is a lovely indoor sitting area called The Bridge with chairs, tables, and workspaces but it is very warm when the sun shines through. That’s also where you can get bags of ice for your room.
The actual room is quite small but efficient. It DOES NOT however have the typical iron, small fridge, safe, or coffee pot, so don’t bother looking for them. The beds are a little too soft so I woke up with aches and pains.
The rooms are a bit pricey considering the room is “no frills.”
Valet parking is $45 per day with in and out privelages.”
“Perfect location and wonderful stay! Some B&Bs can be old, dark and dingy but not the Serenity Inn. It was light and nicely renovated while still retaining its charm. We stayed in room 2 on the ground floor, which was surprisingly quiet. We enjoyed having the fireplace. Bathroom was beautiful. Many shops and restaurants are a close walk away. Lisa was very helpful too. Definitely recommend. Reasonably priced too.”
