Overall did like the hotel and the experience… HOWEVERRRR… booked through SUPER via KAYAK, and at check out was the first time I was informed of the $100+ dollar “Destination fee?” I think is what they called it? No overt mention of this prior to booking or on either site that displayed the prices when searching. Given that this was roughly a third of my total cost for the booking, I’d say this was a pretty substantial hidden fee. Not thrilled with this at all, and couldn’t really put up a fight about it at the moment as we had to leave to get home. Calling Super/Kayak got me no resolution other than a very pandering, half hearted apology. Won’t be using SUPER ever again and most certainly won’t risk going back to get hit with that fee again either. Shame, it really was a nice clean little hotel.

I was leary about staying here because the rating has dropped to drastically from the last time we stayed. However we stayed here for a family wedding and were pleasantly surprised. Are there extra fees? Yup you are in Newport it's expected. Upon check in we did have an encounter with a rude desk clerk. She clearly felt she was better than everyone. Very smug. However other than her rude face and tone everyone else there was wonderful. The bartender at the hotel bar was fabulous and make an amazing vodka collins. The room was cozy and the bed was comfy. Everything was super clean. The gym was clean and had everything needed for a good workout. The location was great. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

It's a good location for visiting Newport. The Mansions are only about a mile away, a pleasant walk if the weather is good. Thames Street is only a few minutes away on foot. The valets took care of the car. My wife and I walked everywhere. There is a nice pastry shop just across the street.

The bathrooms in the rooms are dated and do not live up to the hotel's stated claims. There was rust in the bottom of the bathtub and no welcome products. The common areas are magnificent and the welcome perfect.

Despite the in town location, good service, and clean room, my one night stay was a huge disappointment. When booking online, the hotel advertised a $160 price for one night, but the total bill came to $289 after an additional six fees and taxes were added, including a $45 "urban destination fee" that even had its own $3.15 tax. On top of that, a glass of milk cost me over $5 (including the tax) that I had hoped to use for my coffee the next morning. But, alas, the coffee maker didn't work. Never again will I seek overnight accommodations at this hotel or any other in the state of Rip Off Island.

02/19/2024 1:34am Lonely security guard wouldn’t let me deliver an instacart order at 1:30 in morning because there’s a chance someone could steal this $200 but 0 chance of him and the front desk clerk taking anything from it. You lost a customer until that weak person is gone!

If you read this hotel is dog friendly you better pay attention to the fine print. This hotel advertises things on their website that simply didn’t happen while we were there. For example: they advertised a band on the rooftop bar area, not only no band the whole rooftop was locked up. They advertise free bottled water however they don’t put it in your room you need to ask at the front desk, tackle I know. They also charged 9 dollars more than the item was listed on the menu so pay attention. My parents used to come here when they were alive sadly I don’t think I’ll be back!

Rooms are clean and lovely. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be staying again. It's only a quick walk to many good restaurants and things to do. Every meal we had that was prepared at the restaurant was delicious. If we have any suggestion, it would be mattress toppers as the mattress was incredibly stiff. We attended the NEHA Couples Retreat here, and had a wonderful weekend.

A fine hotel. Has all the basics. The rooms are very small. The $45 to park would be appropriate in NYC not Newport.

Very dishonest about their "pet cleaning fee" of 150 dollars. Was not informed until i saw the charge on my credit card. Dirty bathroom and shower. Would never go back.

A nice hotel but beware of hidden fees and cost to valet park. There are not a ton of street parking options and you will most likely have to valet. $45 fee for “urban destinations” and $45 fee for valet. The arbitrary “urban destinations” is for complimentary water in your room (as silly as that sounds) and a fee basically just to stay at the hotel. You won’t know this until you see your credit card after your stay, so that’s fun. It leaves a really bad taste in your mouth after having a nice weekend at the hotel.
