I wanted to love this place. We booked the room with booking.com. Nothing in the description said that we would be getting a HUGE room with 2 bedrooms and a pull out sofa. There were only 2 of us. Had the description said this we probably would have opted for another property or a smaller unit. The light that flooded in to our room overnight from the parking lot was so bright that it was actually sort of just, well, odd. Finally the free breakfast was really not good. The coffee was awful and the steel cut oats were runny. It’s a lovely property, the staff was very nice, it’s clean and well maintained although the bathroom was like stepping back to 1976.

We stayed here for a 3-night stay and it was amazing! No elevator but they carried our luggage up for us! Great location that is walking distance from the harbor and all the cute shops/restaurants. Room was amazing (we were in the Captain’s Suite), most comfy bed and pillows ever!! Staff were so friendly and helpful. Afternoon chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch and so yummy! It rained the whole weekend and they provided us with umbrellas which was a lifesaver. 10/10 would recommend. We will deff be back next time we come to Newport!

I booked a quick 3-day vacation up here to Newport and was blown away by our stay at the Harborside Inn! The staff have been wonderful from check-in to check-out. The location is amazing, our room had a beautiful quaint balcony overlooking the water and the docks. The continental breakfast was fresh and the Harbor Room (where the breakfast is served) is bright and inviting. We loved the comfortable mattress and pillows in our room, and the mini split system is wonderful! We are looking forward to coming back to Newport and staying at the Harborside Inn once again!

To say this was our favorite place to stay is an understatement! We enjoyed a 1-night stay at the Harborside Inn while traveling to Newport. The staff from beginning to end was beyond accommodating. Check in was a seamless process, and the room was very clean, decorated, and had had all the amenities needed. Along with a fantastic view, and everything within walking distance, we were given some great recommendations for food and activities from the staff. Breakfast was also a fantastic spread, with plenty of food and drink options. With flawless attention to detail, and going well above all expectations, they earn our highest recommendation, and we look forward to returning!

The rooms are lovely, the location is amazing, and their continental breakfast is the best way to start the day! AND those chocolate chip cookies!!! Amazing! Highly recommended!

The Harborside Inn was truly a charming gem among the many hotels and inns in beautiful Newport, RI. I recently spent three nights there with my family and could not have asked for a better visit. The desk team was incredibly welcoming and always showed interest in our day—kudos to Alan and Elle!
We stayed in the Captain’s Suite, which was perfect. It was well-appointed with a wet bar and a quaint seating area. The suite also had a small private deck with views of Newport Harbor and the Newport Bridge. Each morning, we enjoyed a light complimentary breakfast while overlooking the harbor. The breakfast attendant was a joy to speak with and mentioned she had been working there for many years. I would be remiss not to mention the complimentary fresh cookies made daily, which were delightful to have with tea and coffee.
I will definitely return!

Loved this hotel! Perfect location with amazing accommodating staff! Our room #8 was a beautifully renovated duplex balcony room with a king bed and two twins on 2nd floor. Breakfast in the morning was a nice treat, it was included with our room. The hotel also kept the breakfast room open during the day for cookies and coffee/tea, the oatmeal cookies are a must try. Highly recommend for families, couples and solo travelers. Prime location, close to all shopping, bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants. Jane the hotel manager recommended Gansett Cruise's, great recommendation. I will defiantly be back! Thank you Harborside Inn for a great stay.

Clean, quiet, and restful. The live plants in the room were wonderful.
Food and drinks: Midtown oyster bar had the best oyster selection. Tuna edamame was fresh and excellent. The restaurant next door is 41 north. Very good food, but we did waite a while for it to come.
The landing food was less than good. The snapper and halibut were grossly overcooked. It was soo dry.
Never again. It did have a beutiful view, maybe for a photo.
Annie's for breakfast. The food was uncooked eggs were either runny or overcooked. Poor quality.
First and last time there.
The scenic coast is breathtaking. What a beautiful coast!!

Good location and the room is lovely!
The hotel itself is a bit outdated, no elevator, etc.
The service was not that good.
The hotel is intended for a couple's vacation, it is not recommended to come with children.

Great location, convenient to walk to a lot of attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice but had very little storage or space to put anything out in the bathroom. The room was horribly noisy. We could hear people above us like the ceiling was paper. I would not stay here again unless I were on the top floor.

What a lovely boutique hotel . From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were treated like family. Our room overlooked the water, was decorated in a nautical theme and clean. The staff is top-notch! Highly recommend staying here!

Everything here was phenomenal! Had a comfortable room/suite with two beds. Since I do not share names on public reviews, but want to give the shout out and kudos to the very friendly and lovely front desk lady and manager whom I've spoken to on the phone a week prior to the visit and met her briefly the morning before checkout. They made our stay comfortable and, importantly, made my partner and I feel welcomed. We'll definitely look into checking here at the Harborside Inn again for our next visit to beautiful Newport, Rhode Island. Thank you again!
