Excellent views from room and comfortable room in a great location. Only bad thing was no windows in the bedroom (1 BR unit) But you could leave the french doors open to get the light from the living area.
Walkability: Very walkable to wharf, restaurants, pubs, Goat Island

Wow, what an amazing location and view from our room. Incredible views from the rooftop of sunset, the city and waterfront. Our 1 bedroom is very nice, only complaint is no dishwasher, which would be fine if not for the tiny sink. The pool is heated and open, they also have daily events including some snacks and beverages at certain times at no cost.

Don't bother. Booked a condo in March 2024 in anticipation of the 33rd Annual Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival in October 2024. Yesterday, two weeks before the festival, my reservation as well as several family members' reservations at this Wyndam property were all canceled due to "unforseen circumstances," all within one hour of each other. I'm assuming Wyndham overbooked and decided to make the calls. We're now scrambling to find accomodations. Beware and have a back up plan.

I booked a room back in December for the boat show in September. I was just notified that Wyndham overbooked the weekend. Obviously they realized they can charge more and canceled for a higher paying customer. Totally dishonest. Will never book a Wyndham resort again

They canceled our reservation at 2 pm on the day of when we had already arrived in Newport. No assistance provided to help relocate us to another hotel.

This place over looks the newport lobster shack and fishing boats. What a cool new England atmosphere at the warfe. Lots of shops and restaurants and downtown are walking distance. It's a great location next to the water and downtown.
Nearby activities: Shops and restaurants are within walking distance
Walkability: Walking is the best way to get around downtown

Rooms had paper thin walls. But otherwise we’re comfortable, well maintained and the location and service were unmatched. Just prepare to hear your neighbors and know they can hear you.

I have owned a timeshare for over 30 years. I use RCI all the time. This was the 1st time I ever complained. The laminate was peeled off the kitchen cabinets, the carpet and drapes were stained, one window was broken and wouldn't open, the bathroom shower fan was caked with dust, and the folding door between the bedroom and kitchen wouldn't close. I brought pictures to the front desk and was told they knew and they were completely booked. They had 56 rooms but only 51 parking spots. You could park across the street for $40 overnight and they would reimburse you with a receipt. Not the best and the view was awful. Not the beautiful view some people had. Best part was getting all my money back through RCI and the money I paid to insure my points. I truly believe the management is at fault. I couldn't get a hold of the manager to complain. Not even a message service. The poor workers have to deal with the customers. They didn't know that work on the rooms was going to start on Monday of our vacation. That took over 5 parking spaces with dumpsters. They started painting the hallway, too. We also lost the use of the owners lounge for the week because they were using it for furniture from the rooms being fixed. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an RCI resort.

My room was not ready upon arrival. The entire building stunk of astringent chemical cleaning product. During my first night we discovered that the tub stopper that was left in the room did not fit the tub. It took 90 minutes for someone to replace the stopper. This delayed the bedtime of my toddler significantly. Later in the night we discovered that the jets on the whirlpool tub were not functional. This was advertised as one of the amenities of the room. I reported this to the front desk, and not once during my three night stay was any attempt made to repair the tub, or to even contact me about the matter.
On February 23, Rita, a manager, called me and agreed to refund one night of my stay . This refund never processed to my account. I called on April 2. Rita was unwilling to speak with me, but I was assured by the representative that they had received clearance from Wyndham to process the refund that day. I questioned this, stating that there was no activity on my credit card account, but was assured that a cash refund would be processed within 7 - 10 business days. I called a again today. Once again, Rita was unwilling to speak with me. This representative told me that I was refunded in the form of "1500 rewards points" - this amounts to roughly a 20% discount on one night, nothing close to the refund I was promised. I have no Wyndham rewards account, no means to access these alleged points.
Poor service is one thing. Gaslighting your customers as another entirely.

We had a very nice stay at the Wyndham. They are going through a renovation but no real inconvenience for us even though some amenities were offline. Our unit was right on the waterfront with some fabulous views. My sense is that the resort will be fantastic once it’s completed. Looking forward to a return visit soon!
Rooms: We had a one bedroom king unit with a kitchenette and living/dining area.
Walkability: Just a few minutes away from Thames Street with lots of options for dining and shopping.

The view from our room was beautiful. It was inconvenient not to be able to access the facilities without going outside and across the street. Upon departure, I was grossly overcharged. When I called to resolve the issue, I had to call back several times and was basically told "oops, that was us, sorry". I assumed (wrongly) that meant the issue would be taken care of. However it has not. I will be calling AGAIN today, and am EXTREMELY irritated at the unprofessional manner in which this situation is being handled. I would absolutely not stay at nor recommend Wyndham Inn on Long Wharf!!
Noteworthy details: Be careful to stay on top of their charges!!!

I would like to submit a review to those who work in check in. We booked through RCI. When we arrived to check in our information had not been submitted. A staff member by the name of Isaiah Rosa was extremely thorough in assisting us. He was professional, pleasant and calm. To be honest I wasn’t as calm as he was. He was able to resolve the situation with such professionalism and respect. I thank him and his manager Rita for what could have been a terrible experience turned out wonderful. RCI is closed on the weekends so that was an issue in itself. Thank you so much. I look forward to submitting a review about our stay !!?
