The dude was very helpful today, picking out my son’s first skateboard. He added shock absorbers, and even a different color screw to help my son get to know the front of his board. He didn’t steer us toward the premium stuff, even when it was apparent we didn’t know a thing about skating. Great job.

Best surf shop in Newport IMO. Recently came to Newport from Hawaii and these guys set me up w a new board, wetsuit and gave me a killer deal. The shop has a solid selection of boards and all the equipment and clothing you could ever need. The staff are all super chill as well. I've seen them in the water a few times since I got here and they're just good guys.

These guys are Great in Newport RI, I live in Queens NY, i ordered my wetsuits on a Thursday PM, by Friday was already shipped, and will get it in by Tuesday after Memorial day. That is great Customer Service. Thank you guys for your help.

Nice little surfshop right on thames street. They have all of the big brands at prices that you would expect right in the tourist center of town. They have a discount rack on the porch which has some pretty good finds in it. The woman working behind the counter was very nice.

We were in desperate need of new bathing suits for summer, and Breakwater Surf came through in the best possible way! This awesome little shop is located right on the craziest tourist drag in town, Thames Street, but don't let that deter you from coming in for some rad beachwear finds! They have a great selection of men's and women's swimsuits and apparel, as well as accessories for the surfer (or wannabe surfer) in all of us. I was very impressed with the sale section, as well. My boyfriend got a really cool multicolored pair of swim trunks for only like 20 bucks marked down from 45 bucks. Not a bad deal! The selection is much smaller than Island Surf & Skate, but you can't beat the easy walking access as it is part of a section of town with lots of shops and attractions. Ellis, the employee that was working, provided excellent customer service, and was knowledgeable, pleasant, and all around made the experience of shopping at Breakwater Surf very much worthy of a 5 star review!
