The National Hotel offers a lovely and casual dining experience, particularly on its beautiful porch with a spectacular view of the harbor. The outdoor seating provides a beautiful, if sometimes noisy, vantage point, with a quieter alternative available on the back porch. The service is consistently fast, friendly, and attentive, with staff noted for going above and beyond. The menu is excellent, featuring very consistent and delicious meals. Standout dishes include the baked brie, fresh-caught tuna, scallops, and salmon. Daily specials, like scallops over crab bisque, are absolutely fantastic. The overall experience makes it a go-to spot and a regular part of any visit to Block Island.
Celebrated our 32 year anniversary on the porch. Baked brie was once again delicious. Fresh tuna and scallops were awesome. Our server remembered it was our anniversary and congratulated us. It was overall a lovely evening.

Sat on the porch just as a light rain started. Beautiful view of the harbor and smell of fresh rain. Meals are very consistent and delicious. Special tonight was scallops over crab bisque. Absolutely fantastic!

A beautiful evening for dining on the porch at The National. Seating and service was fast and friendly. Our food selections from appetizer to dessert were excellent. We will look forward to another visit.
