Our dog (Jack) loves staying at Lucky Dog. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Jack seems to be a happy pup while hanging out with the staff and the other dog guests. We enjoy seeing his report cards and pictures. You get what you pay for - Lucky Dog is a great place to leave your pet and you can trust your dog will be well taken care of.

Laurie and Rob are amazing!! Laurie and Rob are very high quality dog handlers and worth every penny. Choosing them was one of the best decisions I made. I used them for handing the dogs at my wedding and for boarding over the weekend. I didn't want to leave my puppies (2.5 year old and 1.5 year old) with just anyone. It was the dogs' first time boarding, and my youngest one is still a little unsure about other dogs, so I was nervous. I had nothing to worry about. Laurie gave me multiple report cards the entire time and pictures of them hanging around and playing with other dogs. They even snuggled with the pups at night! Laurie and Rob really cared for my pups like they were their own. On the morning of my wedding, as I was getting hair and makeup done, they sent the cutest pictures of my pups and got rid of my wedding jitters. Also, my FAVORITE pictures and videos of the dogs from the wedding were taken by Laurie and Rob! Laurie and Rob are like dog whisperers. I was a little nervous to have the dogs around my 150 guests (they still get excited and pull and jump around people) but Laurie and Rob really knew how to control them. My guests even mentioned how great Laurie and Rob were with the pups. I wish I was close enough to use them for boarding my dogs while I'm on vacation. If you are lucky enough to have them care for your pups when you are away, definitely go with Lucky Dog Resort. Thank you Laurie and Rob!!

We boarded our dog, Sully, here in September and could not be any happier with our experience. We have had less than ideal experiences with boarding at other facilities in the past, but felt completely comfortable leaving our dog behind with Laurie and her staff. They go above and beyond to have a safe and clean environment for the dogs. Sully came back happy as ever, well fed, and clearly had a lovely time. Daily report cards with pictures were informative and personal to our dog. We are so thrilled to have a reliable, safe, and amazing Dog Boarding Facility for our dog for the future. Thank you again, Laurie and staff!

My dog died within hours of being dropped off here, the owners have taken down my previous review. There was a hole in the fence and my dog got out and was hit by a car. Police report about the incident is public information and available upon request from the Middletown Police Department. My dog died 7/22/2023 in the care of Lucky Dog ResortWe have since learned that the hole in the fence was brought to their attention 2 years ago and they did nothing until they killed my dog. Robert and Laurie knew the fence couldn't keep small dogs in, they had pictures and vet info on our dog prior to his arrival, and nothing was done. This place needs to shut down before other sweet innocent dogs are killed by their greed.

My two mini dachshunds spent the weekend at Lucky Dog Resort this month. I was so impressed by all of the efforts made to make sure they had a wonderful stay. I am so grateful that I found this place. It allowed me to enjoy the weekend at a family wedding knowing my dogs were safe and happy. I highly recommended Lucky Dog if you need to board your dogs.

Lucky Dog Resort was awesome with my dog's overnight stay while my husband and I celebrated our wedding in Newport. Great communication and nice staff! I sent a late message the night of my dog's stay not expecting a response back and a staff member responded back promptly. Thank you, Lucky Dog Resort!

We traveled from out of town to Newport and boarded our golden retriever Henry at Lucky Dog. This turned out to be the best experience for us and Henry. Henry was a lucky dog and I would say we were lucky as well. Laurie and her team kept us posted every day and we could tell Henry had a good time when we picked him up. Thanks Laurie!

my dog died within hours of being dropped off. he was hit by a car and died on 7/22/23 while staying at lucky dog resort. they said he escaped through a hole in the fence that the neighbor tells us has been there for years and was brought to the owner's attention two years ago. we got the call more than two hours after he died to pick up his body. griffin was two and he was the sweetest dog I've ever known.

Friends boarded their 2 year old dog here, and after they allowed the dog to go through the fence and subsequently die after being hit by car, the pet owners learned the facility never even fed their dog (receiving all the food they sent back with none missing), as well as a call saying another dog (not theirs, one they do not know) was fine, and sent that dog's collar home with the pet owners' dog's things and body. The facility didn't even have the decency to remove the bereaved owners from the email list to remind them to pick up the dog at the end of the stay and that the facility really enjoyed caring for the pet. Absolutely disgusting. Furthermore, the business has blocked the owners on all channels as they try to seek justice for their pet while the business refuses to take responsibility. BEWARE!! Your pets will not be properly cared for by this facility.

Lucky Dog looked after our dog, Ziggy, during our wedding weekend. During his stay, they shared a few pictures and a cute 'report card' of how he was acclimating to the resort. What's more, they were able to include him in our special day with a handler (Rob) that brought him to the ceremony and helped him say hello to our guests. Rob was incredibly flexible, with threatening weather and moving timelines/locations. We are so thankful that Lucky Dog had room for Ziggy and would recommend to them for anyone in need of special treatment for their pup!

Chesney had a great time during his stay. Excellent follow up notes and pictures of his stay from the staff. We will definitely use Lucky Dog for future boardings. We also chose the wedding package. Laurie was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of Chesney during the day and helped with handling him during our ceremony and for photos. We couldn’t have been more happy with the experience!

Just over a year ago I my dog lost his house mate after only a year. We knew he was sad but we had no idea how bad it was until we put cameras in the house. We discovered he had severe separation anxiety when home alone and medication didn't help. We thought a new friend would help but every time we tried to introduce him to other dogs heor people he would have a full panic attack. While Lucky Dog did not cure that they did teach him how to meet and make friends with new dogs and people. Skills he was lacking due to being a puppy during the pandemic. After about six months we noticed he was happy to arrive at daycare and barked to his new friends from the the car. He still had some submissive behaviors when handing him over to the staff but he was also happy to be there. One day while checking on him via cameras on his home alone day we found he slept for an hour instead of his constant pacing and baying. A week later it was two hours, and then up to four hours. Having a constant routine and a healthy interactive program at Lucky Dog on Tuesday and Thursday breaking up his week helped him get through the week. He was also becoming bolder in social situations; sometimes initiating an approach to canine and human strangers where a few months before he was running away, barking furiously and having a general panic attack. Two months ago when the at home anxiety behaviors surged again we decided to try again to find him a new friend. We went on several meet and greets with and without him to find the right match. Two months ago we brought home a puppy on a one month trial. The second she was on the ground in the yard he ran over to greet her in an appropriate way and was patient while she checked him out too. They are the best of friends now and he plays appropriately with her and acquiesces to her letting her take the toys from him and determine the level at which they play.We could never have come this far without the help of the Lucky Dog team. They have fostered all the right things in all the right ways for him to become a confident independent dog who no longer needs to be glued to my side every second of every day.
