I have patronized Back to Basics since its inception. Sad to have seen the original owners retire but glad it is still there. Good place for organic produce, gluten-free foods, and supplements.

IDK. A local, health food store should maybe have a friendlier vibe. A SUPER expensive one should DEF be all over cust. service.New layout is a little strange. Open on one side and bunched up w/shelves on the other w/check out still further away. I liked the desk placement before. Maybe more to come? It seems like focus is on stocking and payment. Less on fresh groceries. More on packaged stuff. IDK. Thanks

Back to Basics staff and owners are very informative and helpful in guiding you to find a product that is good for your needs. They have excellent vegan / gluten free options, excellent sources of plant protein, including protein powders and great natural supplements. Grateful for their presence and expertise in our community!

I just can not afford this store any longer. They have good quality products and a good selection. Food, cleaning products, vitamins, skin care, etc. It's all there. I buy a couple items and ding my credit card for over a hundred dollars. Every time. I do want good quality products, and I do want to support local business and I do understand it's expensive to run a business. I also understand I have a budget I have to live within. It sad, but that's how it is. I'll keep trying, but the last few visits I have walked out with no products because sticker shock. Hope blooms eternal!

I've been a customer of this store for a very long time (>15 years)..since they were in a small storefront in East Greenwich. I have recommended this store to many people who were diagnosed with Celiac disease. They have always had the best selection of gluten-free products available in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and have offered people with restricted diets a wealth of options. During these times of covid, I wish that curbside pick-up was available, but I understand that this may be difficult due to the number of employees working at an one time.

This is such a lovely store. It’s small and quaint and when you walk in you can immediately smell spices. Although my only complaints are that it’s really expensive to shop here and the employees weren’t very friendly.

I never write reviews but after reading a few O felt I should tell my experience. The employees are always accommodating and the owners are also.I went there for a specific skin care product, they had one left, the trial spray. She handed it to me and said take this one and if it works for your skin we will order more. I have bought numerous quality vitamin supplements and much more there.

All of your gals are extremely professional. Linda made me feel very comfortable and took her time to explain items to me of which is most appreciated. Yes, I did walk out with some of your products. As I also worked in retail (out of state) before Covid-19. Customer service is most important in the retail world.Thank you

Owners and staff are rude!Bring cash because most of the time their credit card machine is not working. Owner was unapologetic and rude when I said something about the credit card machine not working again; she looked at me and said "what do you want me to do about it" ?try upgrading your system)! The staff can barely greet customers as they enter the store because they're too busy gossiping or eating. I love supporting local businesses, but not when they're rude and clearly don't value the business.Half of the products are old and are left over from the previous owners. Do yourself a favor and take the drive to Whole Foods; they have fresh products and professional staff.

Kind, knowledgeable, and initiative-oriented faculty. Array of herbs and fresh, seasonal vegetables available. Nearly all are organic, natural, or plant based options.

I love this place! They have a huge selection of supplements and food. The only reason for 3 starts is the employees are not very friendly. You almost feel uncomfortable in there sometimes. It's a shame bc I do love what the store has to offer.

This grocery store's name, Back to Basics, says it all. Everything inside the store is either natural or organic and they carries great products for eating healthy and sustainable living. They offer a large section of vitamins and supplements which are great for holistic medicine. The food options are selective but they carry brands that are not sold at typical supermarkets. I was very happy too see a variety of Kombucha Teas and different flavors of Zevia drinks. Yet, this store is unbelievably expensive and the cashiers are considerably rude. I have shopped here multiple times and have always left feeling like I was bothering them by shopping there.
