Knowledgeable thorough vets that take the time to carefully answer and explain all your questions. They are efficient without sacrificing quality. They genuinely love animals. I'm blessed to have them As my vet.

They have been taking care of my pets for 20 years and the staff is amazing! They are compassionate and caring but realistic about financial concerns which is something a lot of people don't want to discuss! Pet care can be very expensive! But this business is well worth it!

Dr Rebensdorf had been my vet forever..she was the most caring vet that I had the pleasure to work with. She retired and I felt that I would go back to the same practice and have a similar experience. Courtney the vet tech was very sweet and kind. I had to wait a few minutes for the Dr to come in. OMG worst experience ever..Just about looked at my dog and started rattling off procedures and judging me as a parent..It seems all they care about is making money and telling you what your animal needs before they do an examination. I walked out with my dog..honestly say that I wouldn't go back or recommend.

The best Veterinary practice ever! Doctors Mahaney, Klibanoff and Stella are wonderful as is Sonya who goes the extra mile to help you from the Front Desk... All of the Vet Techs and Receptionists are very professional and helpful. All of my pets have had superior care here. The doctors are thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this practice.. I have referred many happy pet owners to Oaklawn VH!

It was a tough decision but it was time for our sweet cat Misty to cross the rainbow bridge. We made an appointment for Friday and were greeted with a dimly lit comfortable room, shade drawn and fleece blanket covering the stainless table. My daughter and I were met by a kind tech, Courtney who lovingly took our girl in her arms to get her prepped. She was brought back with her catheter and we were encouraged to wrap her in the warm blanket - as we tearfully cradled her in our arms. Dr. Victoria Klibanoff, was calm, sincere and caring. She spoke to Misty, stroked her and then explained what we should expect as the euthanasia would proceed. Our sweet girl passed peacefully surrounded by love, respect and professionalism.

This is by far the worst vets office I have ever dealt with. Their staff is beyond rude and when you merely ask a question or express your surprise at their rudeness they scream at you! Do yourself a favor and go down the street to mercy animal hospital. Always treated with respect there. I was even informed by one staff member that the first staff member who treated me badly no longer worked there. Only to be mistreated by another staff member a week later. Requested my pets medical records and left! So much happier with our new vet! I left a review prior to this which was deleted and then I subsequently got a letter saying they wouldn't be the vet of record anymore for our pet. Guaranteed a lot of their negative reviews are deleted as they pay to have them deleted. Don't be fooled! Stay away from oaklawn animal hospital!!

I called this vet on Friday for an emergency euthanasia of our cat who was failing quickly and they turned me away. I was told they " had no time and were all booked up" so I ask them to explain to me how they took an oath to serve animals and treated us this way. They had no answer. They should be ashamed of themselves. They don't even deserve 1 star rating. I did find Cranston animal hospital vet who didn't even hesitate to help us out. That is what a vet should be.

Oaklawn Animal Hospital puts profits over patients, although I think they do genuinely care for animals. I was referred here by another local hospital and was surprised to hear that the Dr. "is no longer affiliated" with Oaklawn. It is interesting to see on Yelp that I am not the only one experiencing frustrating billing practices from Oaklawn. I have two cats which were scheduled with Oaklawn to get neutered. One of them wasn't feeling well so I wanted to get him checked with their regular vet who said they were fully booked for over a week, even for sick visits. Oaklawn billed me a total of $304 and then basically tell me they had no clue what was wrong with my cat. They did all kinds of bloodwork, such as bartonella test for $90 saying that it was also required for the neutering. After speaking with the doctor I had to pay. At one point some tech brought me an invoice but no cat. 15 minutes later I had to call asking that they return my cat. Today I brought my other cat for pre-op blood work and the prices were completely different from my prior visit. While they charged me $304 last time, today was $100 which is frustrating me because they told me on the other cat on the fact that this was required for the operation. The tech today explained that despite it being the same test, same bloodwork, same labor, the reason that it cost more money for my other cat was because it was a "sick visit" not a "pre op visit". Very confusing. The staff was a little rude. I talked to one tech who seemed nice and said she was going to connect me with the office manager to resolve the billing concerns. Then another different tech called me saying she needed to take my payment down, without any regard for the fact that I was waiting for info from the manager. The person who took the payment seemed like I was inconveniencing them. I spent $400 in less than a month on basically bloodwork, and they are acting like I am the inconvenience? With so many places to go it felt like they didn't value me as a customer. I asked for a paper estimate to understand how much the neutering will be, since the prices seemed so shocking. This is May, and the esimtate they gave me is dated from March with a clause it is only valid for 30 days. It has lines like pulling baby teeth, laser therapy, nail trim, etc. For a neutering? You have got to be kidding me. One line even had a "misc meds/supplies" for $50. The "high end" price on the estimate, $421, is way more than what I was originally advised. The actual line item for neutering is $169.95 but you can see they are throwing in a ton of other stuff. The fine print gives Oaklawn permission to charge whatever they deem necessary, saying it is "an estimate only" and they can increase the prices as long as they "make every reasonable effort to stay within the fees set forth". It feels less than transparent and unpredictable. As an example of the disorganization, the estimate for the neutering says a pre op screen is $57 yet today they charged me $63 and for my other cat they charged me $106. Nowhere in the estimate does it call for a bartonella test to have a cat neutered, yet they convinced me into this for $90 for my other cat because he was sick. If you do decide to go here, definitely be prepared to ask candidly if something is required or optional, and clarify pricing in writing beforehand.

I'm still waiting for a return call from Dr.Goh who saw my dog4-22-21 and I have left 3 messages imperative she called me back and has not been returned. I want to speak with her directly and I have a lot of questions. I feel after being at Oaklawn for over 25 years it is unprofessional not to return my call especially with the bill and medications perscibed for my German Shepherd . I never had a problem with dr Courtney. I really do not want to publish this entire story but I will say I'm suggesting she calls me back as soon as possible from Dr Goh and not the office manager. Obviously she neglected to read my dogs chart. The prescription s prescribed should of had blood work before giving them out. He was already tested with his stool three times and negative. I also understand that he was too aggressive and you could not check him out. I would like to know how you give medication without bloodwork especially the Metronidazole that is not approved for Dogs along with the other three medications when u have no clue what is wrong. Also changing his dog food in the middle of everything else not resolved. You could not even examine him so you have no clue of his health situation and I am suppose to except this with a 404.00 bill with my dog not even looked at. If you couldn't handle the dog you send him out. You do not prescribe medication when you have no clue what's going on also I had to lookup every one and all three has side effects of diarrhea ,vomiting, and for worms were he tested negative. Thanks for the return call. I will expect a full credit or I will report this incident.

Everyone at Oalkawn Animal Hospital is professional and caring. They are timely and good about sending reminders when my cat and dog have vaccinations or tests due. The parking and waiting areas are convenient and clean. I really appreciate that they get my anxious dog into a visit room quickly.

Had to bring my pup in Saturday after a seizure and her acting really off. We have seen two of the vets here at the other location (Cranston animal hospital), but this place is closer and is open later on Saturdays. I was pleased with both vets I saw at the other location and was hesitant to leave my baby with a new doc since you can't go in during COVID. She saw Dr Stella, and over the phone this vet was caring, compassionate and as blunt as she could be given the situation. Additionally, she did not judge me when I said I was not ready for euthanasia, and she did not order or push to order unnecessary tests.

Sitting in my car writing this, after paying $30 to have my cats nails trimmed with no warning!! Up from $16 literally 2-3 months ago. This place is always packed, nothing to do with Covid except using it as an advantage to rip people off. Maybe it's changed, but City Kitty in PVD does this for free if u are a patient, and you don't have to put your cat thru dealing with dogs either. Shame on this place, was going to bring my cat here for care since we moved to Cranston but not after being price-gouged for a 5 min nail clip. Would much rather spend $30 in PVD on a lovely lunch to-go from somewhere after the clip!
