So my dog has been coming here for years. Well check ups, vaccinations, surgical follow up (done at Angel in Boston). Bomber is 18 yrs old --a phenomenon for any dog breed. He is at the end of his life, maybe weeks. He developed a UTI--common for sedate dogs of his age. We called the vet--brought in a fresh urine sample for analysis, they received it, analyzed it, charged $80 for it, and contacted us by email at 1:06 pm Friday. ( "Bombers urinalysis is showing a urinary tract infection. We had treated another UTI last year, At this point , I would highly recommend doing bloodwork on him, as well as a urine culture to investigate why he is experiencing recurrent infections.") What? We knew why...he's 18, and he's dying. WE HAVE A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY but he is uncomfortable and experiencing some pain/discomfort. I called them to get medication (FRIDAY afternoon--early) but the acting physician (Dr Goh ) had left early. They (tech) stated they could not give medication until he was seen. (He had the same experience A YEAR ago and they treated it with antibiotics, resolved nicely.) I insisted they give us something to begin before now, 4 days until appointment. I reiterated they had ALREADY done an urinalysis, She stated --"That was a mistake--should never have been without dog being seen" (they charged me $80--was that a mistake?) I insisted again and she said she would consult with the Medical Director since Dr. G was not there. Again, after conferring with Med Director, refusal to give meds to relieve--suggested we go to PETMEDIC, Urgent Care. I requested a call back from Med Director--4 times. She said she would make the request. NO CALL BACK. The bottom line here is that is all they are concerned with--the bottom line

The staff and doctors here are fantastic. They are so friendly and gentle with our dog. He always feels comfortable there and they go out of their way to make sure the dog is happy.

My pup had kennel cough . She was vaccinated for it so it was very mild case. They made me wait a week it said I could go to urgent care. I am relatively new to this practice and have been very happy with the doctors. Front desk not so friendly or accommodating .

Please, please, do NOT bring your pet here. They are the absolutely worst animal hospital I have ever dealt with. The staff is rude (actually called me a liar) and started bad mouthing me (they didn't realize the phone was not already hung up. I am shaking as I write this. I needed a few pills (4) for my 12 year old dog to get me to my next appointment with them and they absolutely refused. I was only 2 months past her annual exam! I can't believe they are letting my dog go off her meds cold turkey! That is not the kind of office you want taking care of your precious pets.

Brittany should win an award for being so patient and nice. The other staff who answer the phones...if you don't kiss their butts, then they are mean. Long story short, don't go here. Go to another establishment. Dr. Goh is HORRIBLE. Mean, vindictive, etc. one of the girls was super rude to me and Dr Goh got on the phone and blamed me. She never got the full story. And this place is a dirty dump. Filthy, smelly, waaayyy too small. Just being honest, go someplace else. Plenty of great vets out there.

My 13 1/2 yr old dog was sick and my regular vet could not see her today. She referred me to Ocean State but I've heard horror stories. I called Oaklawn since my son brought his dog there and we had an appointment an hour later. They let us wait in the car until a room was ready since she couldn't walk. The doctor and technicians were reasonable, compassionate and understanding when we heard the options and all agreed that euthanasia was the kindest course of treatment for her. I've never had such a great experience with a veterinarians office in the past.

Knowledgeable thorough vets that take the time to carefully answer and explain all your questions. They are efficient without sacrificing quality. They genuinely love animals. I'm blessed to have them As my vet.

They have been taking care of my pets for 20 years and the staff is amazing! They are compassionate and caring but realistic about financial concerns which is something a lot of people don't want to discuss! Pet care can be very expensive! But this business is well worth it!

Dr Rebensdorf had been my vet forever..she was the most caring vet that I had the pleasure to work with. She retired and I felt that I would go back to the same practice and have a similar experience. Courtney the vet tech was very sweet and kind. I had to wait a few minutes for the Dr to come in. OMG worst experience ever..Just about looked at my dog and started rattling off procedures and judging me as a parent..It seems all they care about is making money and telling you what your animal needs before they do an examination. I walked out with my dog..honestly say that I wouldn't go back or recommend.

The best Veterinary practice ever! Doctors Mahaney, Klibanoff and Stella are wonderful as is Sonya who goes the extra mile to help you from the Front Desk... All of the Vet Techs and Receptionists are very professional and helpful. All of my pets have had superior care here. The doctors are thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this practice.. I have referred many happy pet owners to Oaklawn VH!

It was a tough decision but it was time for our sweet cat Misty to cross the rainbow bridge. We made an appointment for Friday and were greeted with a dimly lit comfortable room, shade drawn and fleece blanket covering the stainless table. My daughter and I were met by a kind tech, Courtney who lovingly took our girl in her arms to get her prepped. She was brought back with her catheter and we were encouraged to wrap her in the warm blanket - as we tearfully cradled her in our arms. Dr. Victoria Klibanoff, was calm, sincere and caring. She spoke to Misty, stroked her and then explained what we should expect as the euthanasia would proceed. Our sweet girl passed peacefully surrounded by love, respect and professionalism.

This is by far the worst vets office I have ever dealt with. Their staff is beyond rude and when you merely ask a question or express your surprise at their rudeness they scream at you! Do yourself a favor and go down the street to mercy animal hospital. Always treated with respect there. I was even informed by one staff member that the first staff member who treated me badly no longer worked there. Only to be mistreated by another staff member a week later. Requested my pets medical records and left! So much happier with our new vet! I left a review prior to this which was deleted and then I subsequently got a letter saying they wouldn't be the vet of record anymore for our pet. Guaranteed a lot of their negative reviews are deleted as they pay to have them deleted. Don't be fooled! Stay away from oaklawn animal hospital!!

I called this vet on Friday for an emergency euthanasia of our cat who was failing quickly and they turned me away. I was told they " had no time and were all booked up" so I ask them to explain to me how they took an oath to serve animals and treated us this way. They had no answer. They should be ashamed of themselves. They don't even deserve 1 star rating. I did find Cranston animal hospital vet who didn't even hesitate to help us out. That is what a vet should be.
