Citizens has decided to eliminate safe deposit boxes. After banking there for 4 decades, I'm looking for a new bank that practices customer service & not just lip service.

This branch is fine. I've had very little contact with them in person. A major negative about Citizen's Bank is that they charge $10 per month to have an account unless you make a deposit, in which case it's free. I use Citizen's as a second bank, just so I have a local account. Their policies mean that I have to constantly keep track of things and make sure I do a deposit every month. Otherwise, they'll charge me ten bucks to earn interest on my money. Speaking of which, this morning I tried to deposit $7000 into my savings account, using their phone app. I had made a similar deposit the day before and was not allowed to make a second large deposit. Their web site said that there was a $10,000 daily limit on phone deposits, but I had not made a deposit today, so I was confused. I called their customer service number and spoke with a man named Jack, who was incredibly unhelpful, condescending, and rude. He asked me for my 16-digit debit card number. I didn't have it on me and asked if he could just look up my information on his computer. He acted like I was trying to do something shady. I wasn't. I just didn't want to go out to my car at 6 a.m., get my wallet, and read him the number when he could easily look up my info in the time it would take to do this. His response was, in an incredibly patronizing voice, "Sir, we have this little thing called security." And so on. Look, I understand banks have security, but there are workarounds and there's no reason to be a j*** to a client who's only "crime" is to try to deposit a check for seven grand. I went out to my car, got the card, and read the 16-digit number to him. And then he asks me a long series of security questions. You couldn't just look up my info and go through this same process of verification, Jack? Wow. It turns out that Citizen's has a 30-day limit on the amount you can deposit through their phone app. In the end, I had to go and deposit the money in person. Why bother to have an app if you're going to limit my ability to put money in your bank? Can I just say again that this is a bank that does not seem to want your money? So this is what it's like to do business with Citizen's Bank. The whole point of these large transactions is because I'm planning to buy a house in the near future. I have perfect credit and am putting down 20%. I can bank with anyone. Thanks to Jack, I'll go elsewhere for a mortgage.

Citizens Bank should be avoided. Their fees are numerous and high, and they use dishonest trickery to get their customers to pay more fees. My experience is instructive: I had been a good customer for six years, but because of a confluence of events, PayPal pulled money out of my account right before three checks came in to clear. That was right before a holiday, and Citizens was closing early even though the day before the holiday was not a holiday in itself (they shouldn't have done that). As a consequence, I couldn't get money into the bank to cover the checks. The checks then came in to clear in the order of smallest to largest, and I should have been charged one $39 overdraft fee; but Citizens re-ordered the withdrawals from largest to smallest so that I was charged three fees. This is what I mean by "trickery". Only the greediest banks use tricks like that to raise money from their customers. If you are looking for a bank, you would be better off at a savings bank or credit union.

Clean, bright, friendly, efficient - lathe things you want from a bank. This branch is great; the staff are all friendly, the service is quick without being sloppy. There are two ATMs - a drive thru and a walk-up. Plenty of parking, although take note - everyone in the Village uses this lot as a place to park for anything in the village. Also, it's a busy little town for traffic, both pedestrian and vehicle, so exercise caution both entering and exiting the bank.

Staff is always pleasant, the building and parking lot are clean, and no question you could ask is a bother to them. Their atm does tend to run out of money rather often, but there's not much to be done about that.

Super nice staff, super clean, super super. I really like this back branch but sometimes their drive through ATM runs out of money! They have a nice size parking lot in the back. no brainer. If you want your money, this is your kinda place.
