I consigned some jewelry and pottery that I inherited a few years ago to Associated. Their online inventory system is great and their staff if knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.

I called to get a quote on my building, and the lady who picked up the phone was very rude when I asked how she was doing she replied with a simple "great" and proceeded in a nonchalant tone "What can I help you with?" I asked if I can get a quote and before I could finish my statement she cut me off and in a rude manner "we do $200 an hour and we don't do structures." I had no idea what that meant so I apologized for my ignorance and tried to explain to her in very new at this Process and before I could finish my statement she cut me off...again... said "no. problem," and hung up the phone in my face... I immediately called back explaining to her I was not done talking, in which she responded with just an "oh." She ended up explaining to me what she meant in a very short manner. I simply thanked her and told her to have a blessed day....she just hung up.... very poor customer service.

This place is amazing!!! Quality auctions and the people that work there are super nice. I drive down from the Boston area to pick up my winnings. It's a long drive but I have got amazing furniture and items that I would never be able to afford. A+++ for this place!

I went to a sale at associated. It was great! Kind and knowledgeable staff with a huge variety of merchandise. I got a matching set of drawers and my son got a very realistic plastic skull. Definitely worth checking out.

My experience has been very anxiety producing after the death of our mother after over a year of dealing with them. They hurry through packing up your items and only photographed them the first time they came to my house. They gave me a "sloppy" and often not accurate list of our items only the first time. When I called recently they said that someone would call me back. They didn't. Some of our best items were not shown on any of the auction photos or a list of our items. Some of our items were shown in a lot that was not ours. Upon first meeting with Steve Fusco I found him very nice and personable. He said that they would take 25% commission which turned into 35% with the first transaction. After my meeting with Steve everything went downhill from there. I put my trust in their company because they were strongly recommended by another auctioneer who is very close to my family , and a business associate of our deceased mother. My heart is broken. DO NOT USE. CHECK THE OTHER REVIEWS. I bought various lots, paid invoice and shipping. 3 days AFTER auction, I got a message "Please be advised that the seller has requested your permission to remove Lot 245" due to "clerking error". I declined permission by two emails because according to THEIR OWN terms of the sale, ""YOUR BID IS A CONTRACT, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL" and "Title of the property immediately passes to the highest acknowledged bidder when the hammer falls". LiveAuctioneers replied "the auction house has failed to respond to any of our follow-up attempts" Finally I heard from Associated Estate: "Lot 245 did not show as sold on our system until well after the auction was completed. It was assumed that they passed, then sold to an in-house left bidder. Currently we are in the process of determining where this and at least one other similar error occurred." I replied "You made it appear that the seller had just changed their mind after the auction. But now you tell me that this email was in fact, not truthful. You invoiced me, and I paid the full amount. How can you have invoiced me AND taken my payment if this lot "did not show as sold" on your system?" And " The only solution that I can see is that you contact the later bidder and inform them that the items were sold to them incorrectly, and were in fact my property which you had no right to sell." I never heard from them again, despite repeated emails. I have not received the items, I have lost hundreds of dollars, and they ignore emails. An auction, ESPECIALLY online, relies on law and trust. Associated Estates ignores the law, and has broken trust.

Do not trust this company. Read about them on Yelp and believe what you read. They are not trustworthy. Their MO is to say they're in a big rush when packing up your things. They say they'll make a list of what they're taking when they unload at the warehouse. But they don't. Items you know they took will not be accounted for. The ********************** took away their auction license in 2012 because of our issue and another woman's. They simply changed their name and reopened.

Unprofessional! In fact as far as I'm concerned those two guys might be criminals. Don't get involved with them! Rude, unprofessional, misogynistic, uneducated and misleading.

We’ve done quite a few deals with AEA and have always been more than satisfied. They’re a great company with an amazing understanding of the business and fantastic to work with. I look forward to many years of a continued relationship with everyone there!

I'm afraid we were not too impressed with the collection or the communication. The place could look a bit more inviting as well, but then again it is Cranston, RI. OK for browsing.
