Excellent care from Dr Lester who has been their vet for many years. Front desk reception and vet techs are pleasant & helpful. Checking people in and out and answering the phones is definitley a challenge.

SALT PONDS ANIMAL HOSPITAL / COVENTRY ANIMAL HOSPITAL KILLED OUR CAT - SISTER
During an earlier visit to Salt Pond, their staff recommended we schedule our Charlie, our male Siberian Forest Cat aged 9 years, for a dental cleaning, as they claimed he had some tartar. The staff did not make it clear that this was an elective procedure, their explanation made it seem as though it was necessary to perform. The representatives also did not inform us that they would be performing the dental cleaning under anesthesia, which had we been made aware would have made us hesitate agreeing to the cleaning so readily and we would have asked many more questions before scheduling.
On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, we brought Charlie to Salt Pond Animal Hospital for the recommended dental cleaning. We dropped Charlie off at approximately 8:00am and was told I would receive a phone call before 12:00 noon when the procedure would be completed and Charlie would be ready to be picked up. Alarmingly, we received a call at approximately 11:00am from Salt Pond informing us that Charlie had died while in their care. We are deeply troubled by the lack of detailed records regarding his condition and the events leading to his death. The lack of transparency and detailed records combined with the unexpected death of our cat in their care raises serious concerns about the standard of care provided at Salt Pond Animal Hospital. The staff provided little documentation regarding the timeline and events that transpired (including a lack of specific information on the dosages of medications and drugs they administered to Charlie, the amount of time he was under anesthesia before he died, and whether or not he was being monitored by anybody while under anesthesia before his death) make it impossible to understand what transpired with any accuracy or detailed documentation. The lack of documentation also makes it impossible to determine if the staff performed their duties in a responsible manner.
Our cat is dead and we have no concrete answers as to what transpired at Salt Pond Animal Hospital. We are devastated.

The care and compassion is so overwhelming at times. We know they are truly animal lovers and love what they do. I have 2 ragdolls and my daughter has 3 dogs. We could never think of going anywhere else They call, reply to all emails, and check up on them, they truly care. The office people are wonderful too!

Our dog was really sick and couldn't open his mouth. They have been so helpful in figuring out what's wrong with him

Dr. Lester and ALL of the staff at Coventry Animal Hospital are incredible at what they do. My family has had many pets seen here and it has always been clear that they really do prioritize the best interest of the animal. From operations to regular check-ups to end-of-life decision making, they are more than trustworthy and I couldn’t recommend them more.

Regular visits are okay but for emergency I feel they are just dismissive and not welcoming. They tried to send me to another location that couldn't see my pet due to it being a oral issue and then tried to booked out 3 weeks- months to see it. Then when they saw him I was told he can just live with a broken tooth even though everything online says otherwise.

Words are not enough to thank Dr Lester, he saved my dog's life, it was a very risky surgery due to her low platelets, God was present in every detail ?.
The girls at the reception are amazing!
Thank you so much Dr Lester for saving Linda's life, may God bless your life ,keep up the excellent work !

I love Coventry Animal Hospital. I bring all three of my pets there (usually at the same time), and they are always kind and helpful. The people who work at the desk are always super friendly as well. Coventry Animal Hospital is more reasonably priced than my old vet too.
