I played basketball a while ago and then had to run to the bathroom due to stomach problems. When it was time for closing, I was kicked out of the bathroom by the last person working at the building (the coordinator of basketball hours) because of “closing hours” and she refused to help me. What if somebody else had something more serious? Imagine how that would go.

The sauna is not working again….
Other than that it is a pretty good gym with generally clean facilities and friendly staff.
But that sauna situation is extremely frustrating. $70 a month is starting to sound pricey for what you get.

Perfect place for basic sporting needs you need to keep fit! For a membership of $66 per month you get access to all curated classes and facilties - inc lockers & a sauna. Personnel are all nice!
I particularly love the Aquatics which is offered here from Monday to Saturday. Well located as it is accessible via bus for those who do not live within Westmount. Best feature is that YMCA has charity work too!

Bad services. I don't do and don't like anything but group fitness then why do I pay the membership fees for nothing when they cancel the classes I take? The level of the only classes offered is like a joke. Yet, they don't compensate. Their response was to use the conditioning room (gym) or pool for swimming and to participate classes at other Y instead. Well, how? not everyone has a car or bus pass to get there.
Although it is said for all level, most of group fitness classes are beginner level, the instructors they say "instructor" are well... you cannot expect much. I've never seen instructors with this physical level at other gym. What is the selection criteria? When finally we got excellent instructors, they don't stay long.
I miss downtown Y. There were choices for everybody and we all could get enough workout.

Very flat out rude receptionist guy. Is this who you hire?

I only use the gym and find it extremely clean and quiet. Everyone does their own thing and is respectful. It's not too busy in the morning so I rarely wait for a device. The staff is courteous and competent. It’s worth more than $10 per week!

I politely asked the receptionist to use the restroom once even though I was not a member; she refused with a great deal of arrogance and snobbiness in her voice .
Relax honey, the Westmount bourgeoisie’s toilets will remain unsullied by the commoners .

For once I was able to go there before my daughter. Ok it was only 3 months but it really helped her with her English... I will always be in front of you my Chanelle!

I gave this facility 2 stars based on the pool. I did not get to check out the gym or other amenities, but if you want to get a good swim in, this is NOT the place. People swimming in the lanes did not seem to know what they were doing- stopping mid lane, lots of snorkels and fins. The pool is tucked half-way under the double floor, so it feels really closed because of the low ceiling and no windows. The water was cloudy and the lifeguards did not seem to be doing their job of scanning the pool. Maybe other parts of the facility are worth it, but definitely not the pool. Do not waste your money on the $15 drop-in fee.

Treated our basketball players wonderfully! We were stuck for a place to get some practice in and everyone helped us feel welcome!

Great gym with a variety of activities, although I wish the opening hours were more flexible.
