During tonight’s cooking class, a participant made a disturbing comment, praising the terrorist explosions of pagers that targeted innocent lives throughout Lebanon. This behavior is unacceptable, and it was concerning that our host did not address it. It is the responsibility of the business to ensure an environment free from hate speech and violence.

We went to a cooking class, which was actually a cooking demonstration (so we never cooked). What a disappointment! For a Mexican cooking class the chef was absolutely not Mexican. In addition, she was making the recipes for the first time, she discovered the ingredients and recipes at the same time as the participants. We didn't learn anything (perhaps this course would be interesting for very beginners) and as a bonus the menu was made up of recipes, certainly present in the book, but absolutely not representative of Mexican cuisine (For example a salad of macaroni with mayonnaise in a jar as well as French toast in tomato broth). Except for a tiny shrimp-based starter, I had the feeling that the recipes were chosen so as not to cost a lot at the bookstore. For the price paid the place is magnificent, the chef is certainly competent but the service was mediocre. Cooks move on, you won't learn anything here.

About the cooking classes,
Johnathan, the owner and chef, is part artist, part scientist, part magician and part educator.
He is a food hero who wears his cape on the front while he spins his magic to delight our senses and inform our understanding of the delicious and the delectable.
This guy and this store are absolutely amazing.
Treat yourself or a foodie that you care about to a truly wonderful experience.
You will savor. You will spend quality time. You will learn and you will celebrate the wonders of this fundamental, ever-present art form.
Bonne appetite

What an awesome store!!!! I was visiting a friend in Montreal and she brought me here as our premiere destination on a Foodie shopping tour. The store carries only cookbooks and oh SO many cookbooks.....sorted in to Ethnicitys. Baking, Pasta, Cocktails, you name the classification and they have it!The staff are friendly and personable and know their stuff. They are great about answering questions and giving recommendations. Not only do they sell Cookbooks galore they also give cooking lessons in the kitchen which is also located within the store. We had so much fun!!! I bought three cookbooks! :)

Very nice bookstore, lots of choice, unfortunately, impossible to be served in French by the lady who was there, not even a simple thank you in the language of Molière and yet they also sell books in French. I'm not a language ayatollah, but a little effort like hello, thank you, goodbye would have been appreciated. I understand that not everyone is bilingual, but a word of apology, like sorry, I don't speak French, and even said in English, is rarely asked for. It's even insulting, let's say that we don't feel very welcome as French speakers. ?
