Nice, quite and beautiful. The place has small walking trails near by and parking which makes it perfect for families with young children.

Excellent historical place that tells the story of a charming town Wakefield. We visited at the beginning of September, the outdoor spaces are just magnificent. There are very beautiful models executed meticulously and which work electrically. Book to access the escape room before coming. The images speak.

Make sure to reserve online, not by phone or in person. We got booted out mid-way through our 'escape' because we reserved in person and they double booked us.

Fun free escape room for small kids. Ask the ladies working inside the old home to book a time slot. Excellent pioneer days education for all ages. A great picnic area. Please leave them a donation for maintenance as it's all very well maintained. Only outdoor porta potty is the downside but it's a short drive to better washroom facilities.

Stopped here out of the blue and was greeted with a surprising stop. Nice friendly staff. Even got to try their new escape room which was both charming and challenging. Would recommend to anyone stopping in wakefield!

When I visited on May 27, the site was open, but preparations for the season were not completely complete. The staff present is welcoming, they allowed me to visit the 2-story house. A lovely visit, old furniture, period photos. models illustrating past life, the outdoor site is well maintained, there is a small outdoor stage for shows, walking trails, picnic tables. the visit is free, donations are accepted. Sanitary facilities and parking on site, very close to the Wakefield Covered Bridge. At the time of my visit I did not see any amusements for young children
If you visit the Outaouais, spend a few hours calmly on the site

Spontaneously decided to visit the outdoor area (it was closed during a lockdown when we visited this site) and my phone's battery had run out, but we went to check out the sweeping vista of the amphitheatre. We also hiked up the Fairburn Community Trails in the shady forest along Chemin du Vieux-Pont. It was a pleasant 5-star surprise on a lovely day at the other end of the covered bridge. Might go back to see the displays sometime.Edit: Went back yesterday for a winter visit and get some photos before we leave the region. Musicians, imagine the backdrop of the audience for a show on that stage! Nice spot just over the bridge; Top 5 Wakefield Attraction.
