I had a horrible experience here. They charged me almost double what I should’ve paid because their scales were so off. I was shocked at the price and went home to weight it on my own scale. It ended up weighing almost 100g less for every item on my scale. What a rip off!! Seriously never going back

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, I purchased some products and, once I arrived at the hotel room, I tasted the products I had purchased. They tasted old and ended up in the trash! Never again Bulk Barn on Wellington Street!!

Sundays can be hectic due to weekend + bring your own jar discount. To get your jars weighed, you need a cashier to do it for you (unlike zero waste shops) and when it's busy, you need to do the wait line which can be 10 people just to get your jars weighed! It's not a good process, MANAGER READING, find a better system with 1 cashier dedicated to both checkout and greeting new clients in that need their jars weighed to speed up the process instead of lining up TWICE. Would be great too to be able to top up and not have to empty the jar, I understand during COVID but otherwise, it's a pain to empty them out at home and dirty more things to then clean making it less good for the environment to have to clean it all.
Great prices but unlike other shops with more expensive prices, it's not local products. So you can be zero waste but not zero waste+local. It depends what you're after. Definitely do bring a jar and get it weighed at the beginning to be more environmentally friendly!
They carry a large selection of food, spices, coffee, snacks, even dog treats! Less so household products. Going through bulk barn made me realize how much more effort I can make in my zero waste journey, without much effort at all. They also have flyers and weekly specials and senior/student discounts on Wednesday so keep an eye out for those!
The 2 salespeople I encountered knew their stuff and were very friendly.

WoW! ?? Merci encore! ?

The person at the cash register refused to give me the discount offered to seniors on Wednesdays because I hadn't told him in advance!
It should be up to her to offer it and not wait to be asked.
Very poor customer service!!!!!!

Disrespectful staff. They close 5-10 minutes before the official closing time.
