Sometimes there are great bargains to be had, for a good price. Unfortunately, there is one youngish female employee that really glares at you and always looks suspicious and very unpleasant, which spoils the enjoyment of shopping in this store.

This is a second-hand/ thrift shop in Verdun that benefits battered and homeless women specifically. Whenever I have a bunch of clothes, shoes and household goods to donate, I usually bring them here. Run by volunteers, the folks are really kind and helpful. As a consumer, I've found some pretty sweet deals here too. I found a 1960s leather-cased travelling bar, complete with jiggers, martini shaker, strainers and measuring cups. Out of curiosity , I checked on eBay to see the going price, and it went for $160. Here I picked it up for $2.50. Another time I found an unused waffle maker still in its box and got it for five dollars. It's worth it to come here now and again to check their stuff because like I always say with thrift shopping, someone else's junk could be another person's treasure and you just never know what you can find. Plus you're supporting a great cause by shopping here.
