The booksellers are very kind and passionate, but not very efficient. Ordering a book took a total of 2 months, as there had been a problem with their order and they only saw it when I came to the store to ask questions. When I finally received the ordered book, it was clearly used: its back cover was folded into a triangle and the spine of the book was all folded, as if someone had read the book a lot. I guess buying a book in a store must be good but I will never order a book there again.

If you're into sci-fi/fantasy/horror literature (english AND french) and are located around Montréal, you owe yourself a visit to Saga. This intimate bookstore, the only one of its kind in all of Québec, is owned and operated by the loveliest and most knowledgeable people about the aforementioned genres you could find (they're great at giving suggestions that are spot on). Saga also feature a book club and bi-weekly events called Sip & Read/Social where you can hang out, have something to drink and read or catch up with the local sci-fi scene (wink wink, some local authors do pop up from time to time!) all in a friendly atmosphere. To me, they're more than a bookstore, they're a community!

Saga is an amazing bookstore. They feature books that I have trouble finding anywhere else, often in both English and French. They also work with local authors and artists to host some amazing events that bring the community together.The owner, Mathieu is always happy to help match customers with books that will fit perfectly with them.All in all, Saga is an amazing place!

I went to Saga on a whim a few months ago and have since become a devout return customer.Whether it's finding niche sci-fi and horror authors, graphic novels, or classic literature, Saga has it all -- usually in both English and French!I came for their great selection of books, but I keep coming back for the awesome events Saga hosts.Every few weeks, Saga hosts nice book clubs, author Q&A's, book launches, and just about everything else under the sun.As a newcomer to Montreal, becoming a regular at Saga has helped me find a sense of community here -- all while reading some great books too :)

What a great bookstore! Matthew was very helpful, introducing me to books from local artists and helping me find books in French that wouldn’t be too difficult for someone still learning the language. Will make sure to stop by again on future trips to the city.
