Do not enter this place at all, even if you’re desperate. The old man is incredibly rude and cheap. I just stepped into the store and asked a single question, and he responded by saying, ‘I don’t need people like you; I need clients.’ I’ve never experienced such unprofessional behavior. Avoid this place if you value good service and respect

Tried to speak to the owner, his reply was “what do you want, I am busy” and then hung up the phone. Extremely rude, avoid.

Very rude, raciest man. He disrespected my daughter and upset her to the point that she cried. I am disgusted and fed up with all the unkind people serving the public. You need to do better, shame on you. Kindness is free you should try it.

(I would give this a no star). I have lived in Mile End for the past 8 years and the few times coming here was far from a good experience. One time my son, mother and I had not even stepped foot inside and he and the elderly man (his father) said ‘’this is not a place for children’’ and my son had not even touched anything from the outside. Today is the last time I will attempt to wonder in his shop. He was extremely rude, he said his stuff was not for sale than when I asked him why, he said “ask again”in a really sarcastic and condescending way. I cried inconspicuously out of anger that he would treat me or anyone else like this, he took notice and very disingenuously said I didn’t mean to make you cry and I asked him why he would treat his customers like this? He said “I treat my customers how they deserve to be treated”. I asked him to see something and he insinuated I was stupid and a waist of time, that my questions he would not answer and walked off and said he had too much too do that there was internet and to google to learn because he doesn’t want to tell me his knowledge. The way he spoke to me was degrading and disturbing. Once others left he became even more rude to me, he would not serve me. He discriminâtes children, mixed race, (white and African), and I say Asian because I went years back with my Asian friend and he was rude to him too. Disgusting human being. I hope someone else takes over the business that is one of good character, morals and values and treats everyone with equality and respect like they deserve. I pray that the good Lord changes that poor man’s heart, because people like him are deeply hurting and that hurt turned into bitterness/ignorance and even more a hardened heart.
Anyone Christian reading this, if you feel lead to pray for him and his family please do. God bless whoever reads this.

A joy in Montreal for all those nostalgic! Always warmly welcomed by Ivan and his father, without forgetting Akimo the dog!

Amazing store, it's like a museum of old items. You'd need a full day to see everything.

Amazing store. So many cool and unique trinkets for great prices. The man who runs the store has stories about everything in his store and he can help you find something great every time. He also has an amazing dog who might appear during your visit, he let my friend feed him a treat!

There is everything there, but also a lot of darkness and dust. It makes it a charming place despite everything. The gentlemen are kind and available to answer all our questions.

Felt like imposters and followed by the guy with a beard. Bunch of junk that needs to be put in the trash.

Pretty great place if you like being followed by staff and glared at because you have long hair and tattoos!

How do I even begin to describe this place? Tight.Tight.Tight.Andeventighter. This isn't the type of place where you'll be waltzing from one section to another. You're better off walking sideways and make sure your bubble coat- or jacket like I was wearing somehow isn't in the way. The space from entrance to back is long; there's also another side room with more antique and vintage finds. This son and father duo must seriously be doing something right because they've been here for the last 40+years (?) if not more. And prices? REASONABLE. Despite Collectioneur's tight-ass layout, by no means is this all there is when it comes to purchasing antiques and vintage- but this place is strangely pretty damn great. Especially, for our future Montréal visits.
