I loved the holifest organized by grove campus. The overall combination of yoga, storytelling, reiki, and the vendor market was very complementary. I loved the fact that there was also enough time to chat and get to know other yogis.

I was introduced to Melanie through a yoga event. It was magic. Her energy, her kind way of sharing her message, and kindness were exactly what I needed to hear. I went on to take her gentle yoga and YIN training and I can say I am able to step back in my life and really learn to covey my message and my energy towards myself and others in a completely different light. I now understand i am a work in progress, and there is an abundance of learning to come. Thank you Melanie you are in so many ways inspiring, wise and gentle in a very humbling and understanding way and this way of yours is reflected in the way you teach and I am beyond grateful to have been able to share theses trainings with you. I can't wait for more workshops and training to learn.

I had the amazing opportunity to take part in the Gentle Yoga Teacher Training, and it was all that and more. The training provided me with the support and knowledge to be able to help others, and to discover a side of yoga that is accessible to all. Melanie is an incredible teacher and created a class that was supportive and inclusive. Her positivity is contagious! Thank you Happy Tree!

Such a privilege and honour to connect with Melanie. Not only is she an amazing yoga teacher but such a beautiful person altogether. She is a supporter of community and understands the importance of representation in the yoga space. We took her gentle yoga training and even after having complete a YTT, we left with so many nuggets of wisdom. We're really looking forward to taking her YIN training that we've have heard nothing but amazing things about.

I recently spent 3 days with Melanie and other beautiful souls in a YTT for Gentle Yoga. The teaching platform was so clear and accessible. Even though the weekend was spent on Zoom I felt Melanie’s positive energy and brilliance throughout.

I recently took a yoga class for beginners with Linda Viselli. Her classes allowed me to gain more flexibility. They also enabled me to be aware of the importance of breathing during yoga and in every situation. Linda gave clear instructions and was available for her students. I truly enjoyed my experience as well as appreciate her professionalism and kindness.

I discovered Melanie Richards, owner of Happy Tree Yoga, at the yoga expo this year (thanks to Lina for the tickets!). I attended her yin yoga workshop at the expo and fell in love with it after a 90 minute session. Yin yoga in slang terms "lazy yoga" focuses on 5 minute deep stretches/yoga poses that helps train your mind to focus on your body. You begin to listen to what your body says in motion allow you to be present through each movement. The session ends with a self love nap time you can say. Coming out of the class- you walk out with a high similar to that of when you get a massage at a spa! So relaxing. More about the happy tree studio: there are two locations: near vendome metro station and on st. Laurent (the original site). I went to the original site - it's located on a second floor. The studio itself is a shared space with another yoga business- equilibrium yoga. The space was very nice. At the entrance, you leave your coat and shoes. Following is the reception counter and a small hangout area where you treat yourself to some yogi tea (non-caffeinated, more a blend of spices like cinnamon). There is a changing area along with bathrooms- this space was a bit worn out and needs a bit more updating (the bathroom specifically). For the regulars- you can store your yoga mat for 25$ a month at the studio, or rent one for 2$ a day. Melanie's actual class space was divine. The energy of it was calming and resonant. This was my first yoga class- so it was a big deal for me to feel comfortable and I felt completely at ease. The only thing you have to bring along with you is a yoga mat- everything else is provided (yoga bricks, stretching band?, cushions, blanket). There were 8-10 ppl in the class with plenty of space for everyone. The movements were easy to follow and she also provides modifications. If you sign up you can get your first month (unlimited sessions) for 45$ (including fees if you sign up on the website). This is a great option for those that need a little TLC. Shivasanam!
