Frenco is a warm, welcoming, and friendly foodie landmark on La Main with over 40 years of history. The ambiance is warm, décontractée, and adorable, making customers feel at ease. It is part cafe and part bulk goods store, featuring a coffee and smoothie counter with a very kind barista. The business offers a beautiful selection of delicious, homemade vegan pastries baked on-site, gourmet sandwiches (both carne and vegan), and fresh, healthy ready-made meals and salads in its fridges. It is also known for having the largest selection of bulk products in Montreal, selling dry goods, snacks, flours, spices, shampoo, teas, eggs, nut butters, and hard-to-find items like sprinkles and textured vegetable protein at good, inexpensive prices. The service is great and helpful. It is an obligatory stop and a place to patronize, offering better value than other cafes and big groceries, with occasional discounts. The space is also much bigger inside than it appears from the outside.
