I asked the Chayer jeweler for an estimate to repair a quality watch: estimated cost of $375 plus taxes. I had the watch repaired at another jewelry store on the South Shore: $70 total. I can't explain this price difference but I certainly won't go back to this jewelry store.

I have purchased several pieces of jewelry there over the years, but that is over. I ordered earrings for my first Mother's Day with the advice and approval of the saleswoman. I was called back 2 weeks later to tell me that the jewelry I ordered did not exist! I'm so angry to know that my first Mother's Day was ruined and my only relief is to tell myself that at least I didn't buy my mother any jewelry so she actually got his gift.
I'm giving 2 stars because previous purchases went well, but I will never set foot in this business again that laughed at me and destroyed what should have been a wonderful souvenir. It's disgusting to lie to people like that and deceive us for weeks rather than admitting the deception from the start and the whole team should be ashamed!

Do not use their repair services. I brought my watch to repair and they made me wait for months without any news. They do not always pick up the phone or answer their messages. Ultimately, I received a ridiculously overpriced repair estimate and decided not to deal with them. I had to wait another month to finally be able to pick up my unrepaired watch.
Overall poor customer service and unreasonable costs. Will not return.
