I brought in a good, working clock that had unfortunately snapped the hour-hand spring. After a week of his "diagnostic" I found the ticking mechanism was totally broken. Originally said it would take 4 months and cost about $200 so I left it there -- then later on the phone he changed it to $600+. He was unapologetic after I expressed displeasure when I wound the clock in front of him and discovered it was no longer ticking. So it is now more broken than when I brought it in.
