We have always had good service until now. We completely repainted the kitchen cabinets following the advisor's instructions;
- sand
- a layer of stix insl-x
- two layers of advance
- wait 24 hours between each coat
Disappointing result; Paint peels easily. The Advance representative confirmed to us that the cabinets needed to be washed with soap to degrease before sanding. The paint will harden in the next few weeks but the base will not hold.
We would have to strip everything away and get back to work.
We spoke to several advisors before doing the work, and never was washing with soap before sanding mentioned. The Advance representative will send a message to all their stores to raise awareness among the staff, but the damage is done.
I was expecting to deal with professionals, but that's not the case...even the advisor who noticed the problem had no idea what the problem was until the Advance representative explained it to us both the required washing step.
P.S. the cabinets were washed regularly, no grease visible before the initial sanding.
