They always have very low stock of certain brands. The shelf is always empty.

Grooming makes their own hours…great experience when they’re there as scheduled but impossible to count on that.

I've been coming to petco for the last 16 years and my experience has always been great thanks to long term employee Jan. She has always given personable excellent customer service to me and my doggie pretty who adores Jan.

They don't deserve any stars ...where getting fish for our tank and all they were worried about was over crowding that we were getting to many fish ...which was 8 tiny fish for a 20 gallon tank and now 2 weeks later they all died with white ich spots and won't acknowledge it unless we kept the dead fish for 2 weeks get real people ...go to petsmart they guarantee their fish with no dead carcasses!!!

I love my neighborhood Petco. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The young man that I usually deal with is very knowledgeable about the various types of dog food. I appreciate all of the employees at the East York, Pa. Petco.

Do NOT buy fish here!! They have ick. I bought a number of fish for two different tanks and every single one has died from ick despite my immediate treatment. And a whole bunch of my existing fish have now died as well. Their fish department here used to be great but they appear to no longer be maintaining it well.

Normally this is a decent Petco but today they seemed not concerned that almost half their tanks had ick. No posted signs saying fish weren’t for sale. I was told they were working on it. Ick is a pain to treat. I get it, but again no signs saying fish weren’t for sale or being treated. And there was a guppy in the saltwater tank. I was told he was fine. Seemed a bit strange to me.

I've been in multiple Pet stores, including other Petco's and this store in York,pa is by far the very BEST! instead of the usual filthy tanks with dead fish floating throughout, and not a person around to get assistance from, I immediately noticed "JOHN" was scraping the tanks clean, ALL the fish were beautiful and the tanks were crystal clear!! JOHN immediately heard me approaching and did not hesitate to offer his assistance. I did not leave there without expressing my thanks and what a great job he was doing. Please treat him well and do what you have to, to keep him because he is worth it all!! This was definitely the BEST experience i have ever received in any petstore...

Great quick vet experience to get and get out. I had to wait a little in line, even though I had an appointment. But it was better than the tractor supply where it's first come first serve. I got what I needed which was blood work for heart worm medication. So overall, it's a great place for animal care for the simple needs.

Folks are friendly and they have the dog food we need stocked. So I keep going back here. They also have reptiles, amphibians, rats, mice too. Fish are stocked sometimes. They have cats for adoption and they run adoption events.Don't use the bathroom they are not maintained and has your breath if you do.

Charging for "disposable" materials should not be the customer's responsibility. We already pay for the grooming, that cost should cover those materials. My little 20lb yorkie-poo cost $72.00 to be groomed every 2-3 mos. I was told we are paying for the latex gloves, shampoo, anything that is disposable.

In August 2023 our first appointment for grooming finally arrived (booked it from the Petco app). Arrived early. First disappointment was to see how dirty the floor was, especially since the store was not yet open for business. It was noticably worse as I entered the grooming area. Bottom line - they did not have me on their schedule. Eventually looked up my name at the West York Petco and found my appointment. Second disappointment was to see that the groomer did not offer to call the other store for me, did not offer to book another appointment for me at her shop, did not express empathy for my predicament. Sat in the car to book another appointment, this time at the Eastern York store. Discovered it is an app flaw: because my first appointment on the app had been booked at the Wester York store (in 2022) each time I now chose the Eastern York store to book an appointment the app automatically switches back to the "default" store whenever I click "submit". So I called and booked another appointment for 15 days out at the Eastern York store. Third disappointment came this morning. I arrived at the Eastern York store for my 9 a.m. appointment. As the groomer asked the required list of questions I answered that my dog does, indeed, have a heart murmur. Was then told she could not accept my dog without a written note from the vet indicating it was safe to groom her. The website nor the app indicate this information - seemingly vital information - yet I was turned away, again. For some time my dog was groomed by Petco in another state. My frustrations are not with Petco as a whole (well, except for the app glitch and lack of communication disclosure), but rather with the Petco in Eastern York. The groomer has a serious lack of human-communication and customer service skills. And the floor really needs to be scrubbed.

Great place to shop for supplies for dogs and cats! Not a great selection of care or food items for pocket pets, birds, or reptiles. Animals look mostly cared for but temps and humidity could be better in the reptile tanks and there are sick/dying betta fish out on the floor for sale.

I drove to the store, located my item, searched online for the item to have the item price matched. I went to the Petco website and found my item for $3 cheaper. Why make your customers go through the hassle? Why not just have the lower price in store and online. I'm switching to Chewy's. The same item I bought at the store is $6 through them.I won't come back unless I HAVE to. I know my business loss isn't a big deal.
