Great, great, great place. Small, intimate, and family like atmosphere. They helped me put my chihuahua down, and they were so patient loving and kind. And the packages for cremation were awesome and reasonably priced. Thank you so much for all you do for the furbabies ??

ZERO STARS for this Vet Practice . I thought this Vet had my dog a Westie-Highland Terrier, name Buster, back, she knew that I had just been to her office twice, about his breathing problem, was told she thought it was his heart, she gave me some heart meds and sent me home, ordered a bronchodilator, from a pharmacy in Phili, well my Buster had a turn for the worst, called her office and she was gone home, her staff, told me to take him to plains animal hospital, now I'm in Duryea, that's a long ride for a dog who is having trouble breathing, went through some red lights trying to get there, my Buster died in my arms about 5 minutes before I got there... I'm heartbroken, and I really feel my dog had been misdignosed for at least two years before this, after reading up on the breed I this breed can get IPF - Pulmonary Fibrosis, not saying he had this but the symptoms, are there, she told me two years ago she thought he had a collapsing trachea, no tests ran to prove this and she could have ordered the bronchodilator 2 years ago not when the dog is fighting for his life, anyway thanks Dr. McGarry we got the bronchodilator 2 days after he died.... Buster passed away on 8/19/23 at 7:30 am... you remember that... Doctor McGary... I wont forget you....

if I can give zero stars I would!! Shoemaker Avenue Animal Hospital is the absolute worst!! First of all, I had to reschedule an appt because I had work & they never returned my phone call. mind you, I called at normal business hours and they didn't answer, I guess they screen their calls! If you have a dog with fear aggression this is definitely not the place! They don't even have the respect or decency to tell me they don't want my dog as a patient. Meanwhile, he's suffering with a ear infection!! They wanted to sedate him for his appointment so the only thing I said when I left a message is that I had questions about the sedation, because the vet herself didn't tell me anything about it, the receptionist did. They don't give a shit about animals!!

Dr McGarry is wonderful with my cat and dog! Its a nice little small town vet office where you don't wait 45 minutes after your appointment to be seen. Highly recommend!
